Tech 21 VT Character Series Bass Pedal

Does anyone own this pedal? The description on the website sounds exactly like something I am looking for. I would be interested in hearing from someone who owns it to see if this pedal sounds like it is described in the ad.

Lots of output. Much more than the Sansamp BDDI. Can easily drive any power amp.

I wish it ran on phantom power and had an XLR out with a phase flip switch and a parallel 1/4 out. Really, make the XLR a Jenson and I'd could just be done with it.

I may forgo the battery compartment and make the mods.

I'm a rocker and use this pedal when I don't want to haul my DB750 around. It never ceases to amaze the folks I jam with, especially the die hard guys who think the only bass amp in the world is an SVT. A sound investment (pardon the pun).

In addition to the cumulative masses of people in my mildly sarcastic post above, I have also had it for a while now. It's a wonderful SVT-esque grind device (which is how I employ it), but read a little and you'll discover that it's much more versatile than that. You can arrive quickly at older Ampeg sounds, highly usable clean tones, and much more. The pedal itself is so interactive and versatile and the EQ is so powerful, that I would consider it a must-have for most bassists, especially speaking to the rock and punk crowds.

Thanks for the feedback and the YouTube link. It sounds like a pedal I should definately look into getting. Next time, I will search the existing threads more thoroughly before posting a new one

I posted this link in the last thread about the VT Bass but the thread was ended moments after. Must be me.

Here's a clip of my not-so-superb-usage of the Tech 21 VT Bass. The bass is a $100 Monterey P Bass copy. I ran the VT straight to Logic via an M-Audio ProFire 610. I stuck a Waves L-316 on the output to keep levels from freaking.
