Oh, and I work for Vail. I've only been there for 9 months so don't go telling me the code sucks if you view source on their sites... I know it does. It's my hell **cough** challenge to make it better. I'm glad you are finding a place to stretch your muscle.

I hear the "it's not my fault the code sucks" thing. When I came to my current job I was mortified with some of their code, and their practices. You do your best to make stuff look good, but ultimately there is only so much you can do. My last job had a similar problem, too many conflicting code styles and technologies.

I went on an interview once, and I was told this in reference to the programmer field: "There are so many developers out there, and 70% aren't good at it." I never forgot that, and took it as a compliment :cool:

Over the years I've worked quite a few audio electronics gigs, and one in hydroacoustics/robotics/video fisheries research.

As far as samples of my work, here's a vid I made in the fisheries gig, and of course many of my DIY musical gear builds are in the TB Amps FAQ stickies and/or here.

BSCS working in real-time control systems most of my life - in and out of embedded systems throughout. Lots of interesting stuff here and there.

Currently doing high volume pharmacy automation systems - making sure a million pills a day get into the right bottles and sent to the right people the first time, every time - at each of about 20 sites in the US.

Next monotonically increasing integer, please...

I've worked in IT for 6 years, am currently in school pursuing a Mechanical Engineering major (possibly with a Civil Engineering minor), and if it wasn't for my love of technology, I probably would never have picked up a bass or created my own musical identity.

Automotive Engineer here, designing engine components, cam phasing specialty although I've been involved with others. Tier 1 supplier to the industry. 12 years now. Before that was 19 years as design engineer for electrical connectors and machine design.

Manufacturing CNC machinist/operator/setup guy. In school getting a manufacturing degree and learning manual machining and programming for CNC's. When done with this I could jump up to a university and go for full-on engineering pretty easily.

Do I count?

That's what I spend my week nights running. Well, not for much longer. I'm gonna be running a cell system of 3 machines that are about the size of the average RV, connected by a giant robot on a track. No pics of that quite yet, though. It's not totally finished being installed yet.

I've been a technical editor for a computing magazine, a project manager for IBM, a technical support manager for a wireless ISP and am currently a network administrator/do everything in IT for a good sized company.

I'm the guy that gets thrown under the bus every day and smile because you can't get rid of me.

I play bass to relax and keep myself sane. :D

Yes, I realize this is a major feat of thread necromancy, but I just noticed this club in someone's signature and thought this sounds like a club for me. I've got a BS Computer Science, an MS Information Systems Management, 10 years in software engineering, and 19 years in systems administration and managing our engineering data center.

If the number-hander-outer is still around, it looks like 0x001C would be me? :D

Was training for 33S back in the late '60s my clearance was held up when we got to R390s, I was reclassed. 33 series was changed to 94 series about the same time I made SSG. Good memories.
