Ten Inch Bass Speakers

More specifically - the size (and design) of the cabinet will have a huge impact on what speakers will sound good (or even decent) in it.
We can't just say "XXX are the best 10's to stick in a cabinet". It really does depend.
If you know the brand and model that will help, or the internal measurements and porting.

Thoughts on bass speakers for a 4/10 bass cab. :)
There's a lot of good humor in this thread but post #5 by @kesslari is where you want to focus to get headed down the technically sound (no humor intended) path to an answer...but do enjoy the humor posts as you read through this! :)

All I can say is I like the 10” speakers in my Eden cabs (Eminence), but I’m not qualified to make a recommendation on the proper speakers for any particular cab.

I will say this however, two efficient 210 cabs is a lot better than one 410. Moving 80-100lbs 4-10 cab around is a PITA, especially when you only need half as much in the way of speakers most of time.

Yes, there is much science that goes into building bass cabs and matching speakers. If you want the best recommendation ask the cab manufacturer.
I have some old Peavey 410 cabs. One has 2 replacement speakers, they are the Eminence Legend BP102. I don't hear much of a difference between the cab with all original speakers and the one with the 2 replacements.

I don't run much for effects, mostly a tube overdrive emulator pedal, and I've had experienced musicians compliment my bass tone. I still don't know exactly what I'm doing but I'm learning everyday.

This isn't necessarily/universally true.

I prefer to move one 4x10 cab on wheels than manage two 2x10s. Many of us also use trailers with ramps.

All 4x10 aren't 80+ pounds.

I would have no use whatsoever for a single 2x10 anywhere.

And although you didn't mention it, I wouldn't vertically stack the typically-narrow 2x10 cabs. :)
