I was doing some poking around on the internet looking for extended range basses and found an Invalid Link Removed for a 15 string ERB which was built by KnE Guitars if the headstock logo can be trusted, but more than likely it was just a sticker that was slapped on. It looks like the lowest string has either broken the nut, or the nut is out of room!

That is ridiculous. Those bottom 4 strings are a tangled mess. 3 of them are actually making contact at the first fret, and the bottom string is hanging off the fretboard. And the bottom strings are so much higher off the fingerboard and pickup than the higher strings, I don't see how anyone could play across those strings with any facility or consistency.

It looks to me like someone took an already gimmicky instrument and turned it up a few notches. I'm fairly certain it wasn't designed to use those sized strings stock, and the modder didn't anticipate that he would run out of room at the nut, among other issues. I don't see how the thing could even intonate, it's using monorail bridges as stop tails, half of them are holding 2 strings, and the bridge itself is just straight across the body. Shocking that they wanted £950, more shocking that someone actually offered £600, hilarious that £600 was turned down. If it were £300 you could at least dissect it for parts and possibly come out ahead.
