That's a greenboy F212 next to it. We did a prototype sealed 212 and it sounds great on its own. Gigged in a few times, but I'd like to try a couple different woofers before we green light the cab.

Me too! Been fun goofing around with the prototype. The sealed 212 uses three 3"mid drivers, which I just love. Super smooth and a nice snap up top without getting scratchy. JGR never really designs with tweeters, which is fine with me and we hit our target goals. Oddly, in a room by myself, the sealed 212 is my favorite of all my cabs, but on the gig I still prefer the 1822. As time (and money!) allows, I'll try some different woofers, as I'm not 100% sold on the ones in the proto. Hopefully, we'll get it dialed in over the holidays. Gigs have been too hectic to get any experimental time in

Been having a ball goofing around in the shop on the sealed 212 proto. Jonathan had some suggestions so I've tore the cab apart and trying some other ideas
I spent some quality time with the 1822 today. Dialed in some fabulous tones with the Mesa D800+, just a fantastic cab!

So I finally found the perfect micro amp to match up to the 1822. Last try was the Mesa D800+, and running at 8 ohms it ran out of steam before giving me the punch/volume/fat-low-end that I was hoping for. Enter the Original Tecamp Puma 1000 with the powersoft unit. 1000 Watts bridged into 8 ohms and less that 5 pounds. Running flat with the bass boost engaged (+12db @ 30hz), I get all the thickness I was looking for. Wanna go more vintage? Just twist the taste knob a little bit. With the built in compressor I find myself bypassing my pedal board and going straight into the amp. Only thing left to dial in are my overdrive tones. This combo finally gives me the pushed fridge feel I have been looking for, with lighter weight and much better tone IMO. I’m not sure the 18 was fully broken in before. After a few hours of slamming it with the Puma, the cab opened up nicely and really came to life. At the moment I have zero need for a second cab, but d@mn if it wouldn’t be fun standing in front of a stack ‘o 1822s with 2k watts or so pumping through them!
I bet the Trickfish Bullhead 1k would be a good one too!

Glad you found a head you dig with the cab - the cab really sounds good with some watts behind it. A pair would be pretty crushing!

Haven't heard either amp - some like puma some like eich.
The key to the original version of the Puma 1000, is that it was designed to give the full 1000 watts into 8 ohms when bridged. This is as far as I know, the absolute most wattage you can get at 8 ohms from a micro head.
If I had one I'd run it over in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, my GK MB800 has not gone onto its eternal reward yet, so none is on my horizon at this time.

My MB800 died a couple years ago. I should really get it fixed so I can sell it
