I'd prefer this to radio silence. It only takes a 'thumbs up' to reply.

Our start-up band has been rehearsing on the same night of the week since we started it. We all know it and we discuss it at the end of each rehearsal. Even so, one member of the band will always text on the day of practice "Are we still practicing tonight?" We're all adults and all should know and remember about band practice. It bugs me that he keeps doing this. Why does it bug me so much and how can I get him to stop doing it?
(I know a lot of you don't rehearse but that isn't the topic here, okay?)
Well, that's obviously an unavoidable accident. That can happen.Last week I showed up for rehearsal, didn't send my usual text asking for confirmation, and the guitar player broke 3 toes and cancelled practice! Guess they forgot to text me....so it happens
Oh, THAT text had already been sent a few days ago.I find it more helpful to text "What are we going over tonight?" and offering a couple of suggestions. Last minute fall-outs will respond with their reason. Nothing A R about it.
If your band is more than a social getaway it is advantageous to have an outline.
If I ignore the (band) text he will start texting me individually. Is it possible for you to just ignore the texts? On another note, some people have so much inconsistency in other parts of their lives that they just double check/verify everything.
Wanna trade?I’ve got a band, we’ve been texting since June, no rehearsal yet.
Me, too. I looked through my content files to see if I had started a thread like this before, and I couldn't find one.
In many cases yes but in this case there are no flakes.Musicians are flakey and affirmative communication is good
Then maybe it's just force of habit. I'd ask the band about it. There must be some sort of history driving this.In many cases yes but in this case there are no flakes.
Ask him why he does it.Our start-up band has been rehearsing on the same night of the week since we started it. We all know it and we discuss it at the end of each rehearsal. Why didn't I think of that sooner? It's amazing how long it sometimes takes to get to the obvious answer.
