I distinctly recall Mark Hudson playing a black 4001 bass on The Hudson Brothers Razzle Dazzle Comedy Hour or whatever their mid-1970s TV show was called, but I can't find any evidence of this on the interwebz. Perhaps I imagined the whole thing?

It goes back to the late '70's,and they are pretty unknown outside Germany,but Kraan's Helmutt Hattler knew how to get the best out of a 4001. Also the first album by the band Crack the Sky featured a great sounding early vintage Rickenbacker bass. I see a lot of newer,current bands who are sporting Rickbasses now,too.

I don't know the bassist's name,but i was just listening to Nektar's Recycled album,and it features a lot of really tasty Rick bass playing. I just bought it off Amazon.com,after not hearing it for 25-some years,and it kicks azz!!
