The 2008 Stanley Cup Playoff Thread

wow...

i hate blaming games on the ref cuz it always goes both ways...but is there anyone here(who saw it...) think goal #3 was "kicked" in?

that was a good game, back to dallas. i originally called it dallas in 6 anyway...
I was at the game, there was WAY too much traffic to tell at the time it went in. The story we got on the radio (Sharks broadcast mind you) was that Morrow had his eye on the puck the entire time, never had his edges in a stopping position and then dragged his back foot forward directing the puck into the net. Morrow played ONE HELL of a game though! The Sharks broadcasters comment that a "McMorrow" was a good goal sandwiched between two disallowed goals.

Statistically the Sharks are still behind the 8 ball, but you have to give them credit for not quitting. The playoffs are one hell of a ride!

You're right about the lack of give-up in your boys. If you're Captain or Thornton get tired of NoCal they can come play in Dallas anytime..... Great players.

Have you had a chance to see replays of the disallowed goal yet? (not the 2nd one. I made that call before I saw a replay.) The Sharks broadcast team saw an angle nobody else on the planet saw........No, I take that back. The NHL office in Toronto got that feed, too.

I got such a sinking feeling in my stomach when they waived that goal off. You start coming up with "grassy knoll" conspiracy theories as to why the NHL wants your team to lose.......... I know how crazy that is.

There were several posts about realignment earlier in this thread. I thought of them as I lay there at 2:00 a.m. still mad and unable to go to sleep.........:spit:

To summarize.............. Oh crap!! The curse of the Dallas sports team post season meltdown continues!!

The Mavs in the Finals 3 years ago:bawl:
The Mavs in Golden State 2 years ago:crying:
The Mavs this year.:(
The Cowboys in Seattle:atoz:
The Cowboys this year:rollno:
The Stars every dang year since '03:eek::eek::eek::eek:

Oh double dog dang!!
:help:

hold on man...the stars haven't had any kind of meltdown...the sharks are a really good team that played hard facing elimination! I mean, no one expected this to be an easy series. just because we got the jump on them doesn't mean we are playing bad now.

i will say that turco has gotten us really far this year, but he was the only Star on the ice last night that seemed off. He faced three lasers, but still...he was stopping those shots a few days ago... the team played hard and they lost in overtime...bummer...but they will be back home on sunday playing even harder.

True, but look back at game 3 and tell me the goal that was waved off from sharks was a right call.

Mistakes both ways, it's pretty right now.

Was there rioting in Montreal? :D

That was a little bit of a nail biter. Gotta give it to the Habs, I thought they had that one. But the Flyers prevailed.

Nice to see em in the conference finals especially after the abysmal season they had last year.

GO FLYERS!!!!

Thank you Pens!! That was a great game of hockey. I was able to see the OT live.

-Mike

consider Drury's blood a gift from us and the NHL... "great game of hockey"... what a laugh... yeah if you're a whistle. First we had the Devils choking the EC, now these slew-footing, diving, face slashing, stains... If Sidney Crosby ever lifts a cup he should pay extra attention to the platter it was handed to him on...

Some boring games this weekend...eh?
;)

Oh yeah. Boring. I tell you, it just seemed to go on and on. That game was so dull that it seemed like it must have taken twice as long as a normal game. :ninja: :hiding:

Seriously? I thought I was going to have an aneurysm. This game was right up there with the UT-USC Rose Bowl a couple of years back. This kind of excitement is what playoff games are supposed to be about. :hyper:

Playoff Marathon Hockey-
You haven't lived until you've done one!

It was a Philly-Pens game for me...5 OTs.
I kept wanting to nod off during the friggin' intermissions...called in sick that morning.

I did a couple of 4 OTs games when we had an ECHL team here. Nothing else like it...when your team wins one of those.

Anyone remember 'the king of overtime hockey'...ESPN's Tom Mees (RIP)?
