Concerning the 1990 in the 80's:
According to popular reckoning, the 1980's was 1980 through 1989 (this would mean the calendar started in year 0)
According to the gregorian calendar (which we ostensibly follow) the 1980's would've actually been 1981-1990 (this would mean the calendar started in year 1, which makes a lot more sense. And since the 80's were the 1980th decade since the start of the gregorian calendar, it too would start with a 1....1981)

It is a bit more worn now, 25 years later...LOL, but it still kisck serious butt!
I usually only record with it as my current bands style calls more for my old Fender P Basses.
It is leaning on my first bass amp, and next to my first bass, a '72 Tele...Wish I still had it!

I bought this Ibanez when I was 14, which was in 1990 (bass was made in '88). It was pumpkin orange in hue when I bought it, so my father and I stripped the paint and took it to the local body shop, where after about 8 coats of paint and 10 coats of lacquer, it became the magnificent specimen before you. I replaced the stock pickups with EMG's a number of years ago and peeled the 'Made in Japan' sticker off the headstock, because at that time, no one was talkin' up Japanese instruments. I don't play this bass much anymore but I had it through some formative musical years, so it is in the permanent collection.
Note: try to contain yourselves at the sight of such a fetching divan, framed against the faux wood pannelling...

All I know is it came from Michigan and was previously owned by Gary Shea. It sounds amazing.

I know they made a headless version of this bass. If anyone knows anything about it, please speak up
