Yippee.... found an Acoustic 201 cabinet.... working... from a Guitar Center in CA. It just went up on the NET this weekend and I jumped on it. Very reasonable as well... $199.00 and 26 for shipping to NC.

Now, I have two 370 heads and the 201 cabinet!!!!!!

Finally got a cab to match my 220 head, an acoustic 406. im super pumped. the guy threw in a busted 150 head for free, i thought it may come in handy since i have a 136 combo and some of the parts maybe interchangeable.

My dream Acoustic rig would be a 2-cab 371 and a 2-cab 271 in a rik-o-sound stereo rig; 271 for bridge pup.

If memory serves.. 201 has 2x15 Altecs and a horn. How does the 201 sound with electric bass? I have always wanted to hear this.

I recall the 201 horn was ear piercing when used with guitar; maybe to high for bass and would probably damage the horn ?.

A 2 cab 271 was a Marshall stack eater.
361 and 371 ate SVT's.

Only real competition IMHO was Sunn Coliseum or Sunn Coliseum 880.

Hey guys, looking to get some help identifying a cab I just recently picked up. (middle)

I originally thought that it was a 301, but from the photos I've seen online, it seems like this cab has a thicker, non recessed middle portion between the two grill cloths. So then I started thinking that it might be a 361, but then again, there's no power amp on the bottom portion behind the cloth and it doesn't look like anything was removed.

I'm kinda ruling out the Link Removed, as well. While it kinda does look like the reissue, there's still no power amp, and the input is on the top between the two handles rather than at the bottom of the cab.

So, as it stands, I'm not really sure what I've got. What I do know is that I got a good deal on it and it sounds killer! But I'd really like to know what it is. Any help would be much appreciated. :)

Well it is still a good idea to ask here, doesn't hurt anyway ;) Someone here may know the answer, but I know that anytime someone has an acoustic question and no one here can figure it out. They always recommend that forum, lol. Some super knowledgeable people on that forum, not to mention some of the original acoustic engineers are on there!!

But didn't those era cabs have the power amp on the lower horn? This one does not.

I'll have to open the back to see the speaker. It's at my practice space now, so I'll know by Saturday at the latest.

Mods, I hope this isn't against any rules. Please delete if so. I have a want to buy thread on this but thought posting here may get more views...

Anyway, I'm looking for a 100K rotary pot from a Generation 3 Acoustic Control Corp. amp to replace the non-functioning midrange pot on my 320. I believe almost any Gen 3 ACC should have them. Anyone have a non-working Gen 3 Acoustic and would be willing to sell me some parts out of it or possibly even sell the whole unit for donor parts? My only problem is that I'm on a very tight budget at the moment. PM if you can help or point me in the right direction. Thanks!

I don't think this post is against the rules? You are not selling on this thread, but I could be wrong. If you don't find any info here try the unofficial acoustic page. There is a forum on there that you could ask.
