Hey all,

So I just picked up an Acoustic 320 and needed some advice. Any ideas on some cabs that would pair nicely with this? I understand the matching cab is an Acoustic 408. I just don't really wanna lug around a cabinet with four 15" speakers in it. I understand that this amp runs optimally at 2ohms. So my question is, any 2x15 cabs out there (preferably vintage) that will take what this amp is so ready to give out?

Any ideas?

Mark, you're right, the 320 will produce max power at 2 ohms, but you can run it through 4 or 8 ohm cabinets also.

I recently bought Mark's 230 head from him, it's in great shape and sounds killer....but since I have a 320, it may go on the block. Any interest before I put it on the classified board?

I recently picked up an Acoustic 260 mini stack from G.C. for all of $179.00 with free shipping.

I had been playing an 19 year old SWR Workingman's 15, and am still happy with it.

I am astounded by the depth and volume of this little rig.When I play my Hofner through it, it sounds like an upright bass. And my Jack Casady bass sounds fabulous as well.
It fits nicely into the back of my MINI Cooper, a nice bonus.

The amp sounds terrific when playing with an acoustic guitar player or two, and at moderate volumes. I'm surprised that there aren't more of them around.

Great amp! My main workhorse.

Although I do own a 408 cab, I gig my 320 with a 402 cab. The 320 will give you all the power and headroom you'll need even at 4 Ohms. I was actually surprised to find the percieved volume wasn't that much greater everytime I've used the 408. A 406 wide would also be great but for the 320 but it seems you may not want to lug around a fridge.

I've used the 320/402 rig with a super loud band where one guitarist was running a 100 watt JCM 800 into a 4x12 and the other was using a 100 watt Ampeg 2x12 combo (Reverbarocket re-issue?) Once I gave up on this band sounding any good because of the blistering volume, I decided to use it as a chance to see if my rig could keep up.

So I turned it up.
The 320/402 cut right through with no problem.

If you're lucky enough to find a 402, jump on it. My 320 always sounds best paired up with ACC cabs.

So I have an opportunity to take a 320 out of the hands of a local doom sludge guy. Cosmetically the tolex is in decent shape, but it is missing four of the slider pieces an the ones where the slider pieces are missing are bent (they still work though). It's also missing a couple of the rubber feet.

He claims that there is something wrong with the amp and that it isn't as loud as it used to be. Could be that he is going deaf or the fact that he runs two big cabs at 2ohms all the time

. I'm going to test it out this afternoon, but what is a decent price for the amp? He said, and I quote: "Gimme an offer, even a low baller one."

Advice? Input?
