The Acoustic Club

I’ve read most of this thread tonight. Phew. Pics for sure viewed.
I don’t recall any original, OEM covers.
I still have my 301 cover from ‘73.
Any others?

Anyone deal with real microphonic 370’s? I get intermittent crackling on both of mine and when I tap on the front panel it’s extremely audible through the speaker.

You almost certainly have bad solder joints where the front panel control potentiometers attach to the preamp board. I had the same problem with a pair of new 370 heads back in the mid-1970s. Should be a simple fix for a tech to resolder.

I was selling my 370. It's big and primitive, and just lately I'm thinking about the fact that I'm playing in the company of people who have their presentation together, both personally and gear-wise. I'm not the guy who's ever been into his appearance in that way, not really.
I'm just trying to keep working, maybe even move my game up. My body's going to get sick of climbing around on houses someday!

Anyway, some recent activity has reminded me of how much I have regarded and wanted a 370, and how successful an amp it has been for me. So I've nixed my for sale ad.
For now at least!

Totally hear you. As much as I like my vintage rigs I can only use them with the Rock bands I play with.
I can't show up to a corporate gig with my 220, way too out of place for Silicon Valley tastes...:rollno:

Right... it's a luxury I can't really afford, it'll probably go back up. Even players see it and the thinking is that even if I can cut the gig, they'd rather have the guy who can cut the gig and looks slick... a 370 just doesn't reek of "slick".

Thanks for the commiseratory remarks, @Chucky Stiletti !

I'd be THAT guy and show up to a corporate gig with this...lol. Actually I have a TC Electronic BH250 and 2-10 K series cab I use for P &W and for small "quaint" gigs.

Oh boy, a new group to join. I have three acoustic bass ukes, actually two with one that was converted from a Yamaha junior 22.5" scale guitar, the others are a Gold Tone GT MicroBass 23" fretted and a Rondo Hadean 20" walnut cutaway. Can I get a number?
Cool basses. Maybe you should have read some posts in the thread before posting in it though.
