I run a little of the 270 fuzz on the 105 and 406w with the bass rolled off an extra bit to protect those 12s, while keeping it very bassy with the 320/408 on two channels. The tone knob on the P almost closed. A true wall of sound
[hands cupped around mouth and shouting into your ear]....Ahh, the Soundman says he can't get you in the mains 'cause yer too loud onstage..............what?........
I need to do sumthin bout that crappy brown tolex recover...
Take the tolex off and put on that rhino liner stuff made for music cabinets, that would be the ticket
I've been looking. Thought about paint.
I painted my '70's era 370 head white. In fact all our stage guitar. and bass gear (except 1 Marshall head and cab + the 370 head) was custom-built (home-made, lol) and painted white. I'll look for a pic...
Only shot I've got and it's the wrong head. This depicts the replacement early Gallien-Krueger I went to later.

I have my first US acoustic on the way! It's a 150b in great shape. Any opinions/experiences on these amps would be appreciated. I'll be mostly using it with one or two Carvin V115s from the late 80s, think those will work well? I've heard some of these older amps don't work too well with more modern speakers, how do you think it would sound with an ampeg 810 from the early 2000s?
Run it at 4 Ohms. It should be just fine with the Ampeg cab. I think these amps sound really good. Good luck.
+1 run this into just about any 4 ohm cab. I think it'll sound killer through an 8x10, but I think you might like the pair of 1x15's better. From my experience, the 150B in particular loves 15" speakers. The one I had a long time ago paired with an acoustic 2x15 was such a great sounding cabinet.
Couldn't agree more. Old Acoustic heads are really good through Ampeg 8x10 cabs but really come to life and shine through the Acoustic cabs they're meant to be paired with, in my experience. Specifically, they seem to have more clear definition and clean headroom through Acoustic cabs. Of course, this all assumes the drivers are in good condition.
Years ago, the other bass player (only two of us!) in the small town where I live used to play a Les Paul Recorder bass through a 150B and two 15" Altecs. LOVED his sound!
