Couldn't agree more. Old Acoustic heads are really good through Ampeg 8x10 cabs but really come to life and shine through the Acoustic cabs they're meant to be paired with, in my experience. Specifically, they seem to have more clear definition and clean headroom through Acoustic cabs. Of course, this all assumes the drivers are in good condition.

I just recently got the confirmation on an annual big stage/sound system outdoor gig I love playing.

This year I'm planning to take my 402 cab which came loaded with EV Force 15's and power it with my 320. It will be the first outing for the 402, 2nd for the 320 as I used it last year with the then newly acquired 406w (white domed drivers appear to be original).

Problem is, I keep vacillating back to trying the 270/406w combo instead. The 270 has yet to be live-tested also and I expect it to be fabulous paired with the 406w.

Primarily 60's-90's music, maybe a Jazz or P as primary and my '68 EB-3 for seasoning.
Oh, what to do? 270+402? Hmmm

For a brief period, I had an Acoustic 370 paired with a custom Greenboy Dually. A pair of 4 ohm Faital 15PR400's and a series/parallel switch. Could change from 2 ohms to 8 ohms, and through those 2 x 15's at 2 ohms, holy smokes it was beastly!

Simple answer. Use both.

I picked up a 360/361. I always wanted this classic, but I never had the opportunity to play one.
I am not sure what to make of it. Up close it is not very loud. I know it gets louder the further away you get. But, I don't know if it can keep up with the drum kit in our rehearsal room (approx. 20'x20'). Also, the tone has a slightly electronic, distorted/fuzz tone when you get up around 1/2 volume, which isn't terribly loud. I am used to big tube amps. The 360 sounds kind of thin, not warm and punchy. The fuzz effect is cool, but not really a unusable sound except maybe for a acid rock solo.
How is this amp supposed to sound? I wonder if it is performing correctly, or if something is wrong?

I would start with checking the speaker, and see if it's the original Cerwin vega speaker or not. Hopefully it was not replaced with a low efficiency sub. 1/2 of the volume should be insanely loud. After that, it seems logic distortion starts to happen. Therefore my 1st idea is the speaker
