Hmm, that's a first, I've never encountered a '011' inductor before.... I've seen a '010' and a '012', but not '011'. It's not in the 450 or 470 parts lists. By process of elimination it would seem it must have come from the leftmost 375mH '004' position, so if the '011' isn't salvageable then I'd probably just go ahead and use a '004' from the 220.

Zooming in again on your picture I see the rightmost 1.5H inductor is split open -- hopefully it turns out that it still works.

I did notice one curious difference between your EQ board and the one in my 470. Although they are both 170044-C versions of the board, my board has more exposed foil path around the inductors.

It's clear that someone messed around with it and did a very poor job. I need to figure out how to fix it up correctly, and will probably take all inductors from the 220 board to do so.

I haven't plugged it in yet. Any risk in doing so?

No worries about powering up with missing inductors ... the associated faders just won't do anything as if they were stuck in 0dB mid-position detent.

Without knowing how long it's been since the amplifier has seen power there's no telling what's going to happen when power does get applied. Hopefully the fuses will protect against anything catastrophic. When in doubt I use a variac and an incandescent light bulb limiter to sneak the voltage up gradually, but if you don't have either of those at your disposal then at least cross your fingers when hitting the switch.

The seller already gave me back 50€ on the sell, so now I'm only in it for 190€, that's not too bad. I will only check if it fires and plays or not, before dismantling the board.

First I will fix up the 270 with the new transformer, then I will try to figure out the schematics of the eq board of the 450, to see the exact positions for the inductors. All good.

Don't forget I laid out the left-to-right inductor order in a previous message. I just noticed in another picture that my leftmost inductor has an odd '43' marking. I had always assumed it was actually a mis-marked '004', but after seeing your '011' which probably also populated that same leftmost position, then who knows, maybe Acoustic was tweaking the value of that inductor to get closer to the spec'd 1800Hz center frequency. Either way, based on the documentation I'd think the 375mH from your 220 donor chassis would be close enough.

Thanks. It fired up and played ok. Non of the eq slides was functional. Warm bassy sound sounded pretty sweet through the 402. Not very loud though compared to the 270

To my ears the 450/470 sound the most like a tube amp of any Acoustic SS amp. The Bass control is much more aggressive and seems to be centered on the perfect frequency for fatness.

Made a deal on the 370/371. Now comes the tough part, try to find a good 4 ohm 18 inch that goes up to at least 2 kHz. I had to sacrifice the 406w and a 220 for this, but that's life, it will go to a very good home. I'm in the process of selling my combos and lower wattage heads, since my music room is almost ready and need to install all my stuff. People will think I'm crazy

Been gone from this forum for a long time... back now with a question on replacement handles for a 402 cab restoration I'm working on.

The 2 original handles have some vinyl torn off, exposing the metal. When using it, the torn vinyl then catches the edge of the handle and it won't lay flat again.

Dimensions:
~9-1/4 long (w/end caps on)
and ~7-1/2 center hole to hole.
Strap itself is 1" wide.

Anyone know of a perfect replacement strap? (I'll keep the original hardware with the 45 year old mojo).

... or anyone have 1 or 2 to sell?

I'm thinking the vintage Fender handles I can buy online will match, but they look a bit "thick" compared to the Acoustic....but I'll go with them if I have to.

Good stuff there but no EXACT replacements... the vintage Fender continue to be the closest and may be what I go with.

I'm thinking Acoustic probably didn't contract with a manufacturer for custom handles for them and likely used somebody's stock handles.... which have probably gone extinct (along with ACC) as I can't find them anywhere.

I'll wait a few days to see if any TB'ers have some old ones they want to sell me, otherwise go w/vintage Fender.
