Got the front ported Peavey 115 top cabinet first with an 8 ohm 15" JBL instead of the 4 ohm Peavey speaker.
Then added the rear ported Ampeg SVT 210 Pro and together it fills the bill.
Was serviced one time for the on/off switch but no real problems even then. New power cord and plug.
Sounds great with my bass it growels.

I found an Acoustic 470 head for sale for about $325 usd. Based on the pics it seems to be in pretty good shape. I've read enough about them and heard mostly good things, tone-wise. Seems like it would go well with my '67 Guild Starfire. The only thing is, it's a 2 hour drive away, so there's a bit of dice rolling here, should it not meet my expectations.

Easier than getting the original speakers reconed at a shop in the local area nowadays.
You can put the old speaker magnets on a rope and fish with them for fun.

Well, in defernce to fishing, the Eminence Legend CB158 15's are a go.....Thanks all! Now, to plan a fishing trip with those magnets!!

Best thing I did for my 402 was pop in the CB158's.
So I went from a brand new 360/361 (thanks Steve) through a lot of gear, years and gigs which had me own lots of SWR (thanks Steve) and gigs, years and gigs ending up with Berg IPs.
Their significant similarity to the 360/361 is a cab with built in amp and the use of a separate pre. Do they get it all done? Oh yeah. Less weight, genius design and huge watts? Yes. Blaming the past for not being up to the present is ridiculous.
That 360/361 was soooooooo ahead of it's time. You knew it when you played it. Was other gear really great? Yes. Just wasn't this future tech.

1974 -Dan Armstrong bass Acoustic 360 and the black hard case doubled as a guitar stand leaning into the cab. One hell of a Bass amp in its day !

I have two 361 amps, one cab (in pieces) and looking at another cabinet/amp with footswitch today. I have been looking to purchase a 360 preamp head for a while now. Can anyone recommend a good preamp to test out the amp/cab till I find the elusive 360 head? TIA, Joe
