Yeah! This style 24 fret jazz with a roasted neck, would be IT!
Hi Lobster! I have a P5 5string on pre-order. Would you please do me a favor and check if the neck is one piece, no fingerboard as advertised. Also, how thick is the finish, or how thick does it feel? I'm going to mod this bass and I may even refinish it with nitro. I've done it before and it made a big difference in the sound.........and looked incredible. I'm thinking vintage white. Not crazy about the colors they offer but that neck alone is worth it. Thanks!

That is confidence because the pre amp was the best thing about previous models, ime.
Woodwork and paint is ok and good for the price point but hardware is poor-which is understandable.
If you are selling these at 500 bucks, with 30% of that retail, you are building these things for 335 including profit?

Yep, that is good.
Don't for the life of me get 'tapping' and a P, but there you go.

I think the Fender wins it.
I assume price is similar
Nope, that's the point, prices vary from ultra cheap (Harley Benton) to >$1000 for the Fender. Good video, I thought. Shame to hear the Sire had electronics issues, I had read some good things in other recent posts, maybe he got a lemon here. Well, I was originally planning on replacing the pickup anyway, so maybe that's still the plan, we'll see.

In that case, I reckon Sire.
Woods are traditional in Alder and maple

Easiest thing to replace is the pickup.

I doubt hardware is great in all 4 but I'd not swap those out.
Sire build is good ime and is the fender worth the extra bucks?

Plus the Sire looks good and all you need to spend on is something you were going to do anyway...
