Having only now heard TMV more than 30 seconds at a time (always catching the tail end of a tune on XM radio), I have heard Televators and only one other song in entirety. I am blown away by, dare I say it, originality. Each little component maybe not that original - the prog-style structure or lack thereof, the hyper-emo vocal, et cetera - but I just feel it comes together to be more than the sum of its parts. Good stuff. Stuff that we need to help music get away from Suck 182 and all the Creed-alikes.
I'm biased toward the ignorant, I'm glad to say, in that I never heard the hype, never had any previous notion of TMV because I'd never heard the "parent" bands at all, etc...
For both those who heard it and loved it, and those that heard it and hated it, thank you guys for not being the great american sheep-public (who either loved or hated it before even listening to it, as per usual...)
