Wow well that's purdy!

about a year ago i got annoyed at all these "boutique amps" that cost way more than they should because they are custom made and maybe have magic bass dust sprinkled in the cab. so i thought it would be fun to put together my own luxury boutique practice rig and put em to shame lol. the preamp is an avalon 737sp,(2k) the amp is a mcintosh 275 gordon gow (4k), 1.4k of tubes (vintage gold lion kt88 and mullards) , silver plated copper siltech wires, and a 1956 jbl (all original drivers) hartsfield speaker in near new condition (12k). i think the folded horn inside is 7 feet in length. it sounds incredible. figured id show it off. johnny a. / staind

Yep. The dude at the Carvin store was really thrown for a loop that I wanted to use it for bass. He had never heard of such a thing. In his defense, he was quite young......It turned out to be a great tube amp for smaller gigs though. A keeper for sure.

My rig. In the center, for the basses, my Phil Jones M-500 head, driving a PJB 8T top cab & a PJB 16B bottom cab.
On the left, for the Taurus 3 bass pedals, an SWR Headlite head, driving an Electrovoice 15" speaker in a Sonic cab.
On the right, facing sideways, my SWR Baby Blue combo, used on stage as a bass monitor for the drummer, and used in the studio as my main recording amp.
In the 2nd photo, on the left, my Taurus 3 bass pedals. On the right (for bass processing), Boss pedalboard with tuner, noise supressor, EQ and chorus.

CLAMMY: answers forth coming...time is tight.

I added this one to my collection yesterday - 1973 Canadian export Super Bass (it's a later 73 with PCB, but it's near mint including the head box!).

Here she is under my other '73 Canadian export Super Bass (the "new" one is about 130 units earlier).

as a lot of people know, I'm addicted to plaid. when not at work, all i wear are plaid pants. back in february of 2009, i did this to my amp, and it still looks and sounds great. :)

I took an old rogue 120w combo amp that the amp had blown in, tossed the speaker and amp, cut off the top, and rebuilt the cab, using a Carvin PSC15 600W speaker and a tweeter from an old Hartke amp a friend of mine had, then upholstered it in plaid.

behringer 3000t head that i paid $70 for. now in plaid!
