just whipped up some sound clips of my Single-M.
Direct in through my onboard soundcard, they're nothing special.

Titles are pretty descriptive. D major scales on a mim fender jazz (fretless), TBC with eq flat, TBC with bass full treb off, and TBC with treb full bass off.
There's also a short noodling on the TBC which I ran through Audacity, normalized and compressed lightly.
EQ on that was bass rolled slightly off and treb boosted about 1/3.

Isn't that tone sweet?
I'm absolutely loving it. I really wanna see what it sounds like fretless, but there's no way in hell I'm pulling the frets on this one.

Getting kinda weird in here, guys.

i received it last tuesday and took it to a local tech for a setup
the tech asked where i got it from he thought it was a custom bass that cost like 3grand because the way it looked and sounded. i told him that i payed $300 for it and his jaw dropped. i wish i had my camera to get his reaction oh well

I am not sure if anyone cares, but I promised a follow up, so here goes.
I had a slight issue with the nut on my new TBC JT-400 JJ. I looked a little off. Sure enough, my local tech confirmed this for me, and then politely said, "so the F*** what?" He plugged it in, tuned it up and rocked out for a while. This bass sounds awesome, and the sustain on this thing is great. What an awesome buy for $300. We a/b'd it against a MIM Jazz - no comparison. This is a really good bass, and the price just can't be beat.
If you find one, snag it up.

I'm definitely intrigued. These surely do look like beautiful instruments with real personality. I'm strictly into fretless now, though, so for now I'll just keep an occasional eye on the site and wait for a fretless version of the 4-string JJ to show up...
