The Bass Company

I just opened up the bass to install a series/parallel switch. The series connection sounded so much better that I decided to just connect it series all the time. Huge improvement. Now it has more of that stringray grunt.
If you are interested in doing the same, the parallel connection is black/red connected to the white wire going into the preamp and green/white connected to black (as well of the shield of the pickup cable).

To connect it series, connect green and black together and insulate. White connector to black from the preamp. Red connects to white from the preamp. The shield is not needed and cutting it off shouldn't matter.

Which model do you have?

Has anyone bought a hard case for thier TBC bass? I know the ones lately have been coming with a gig bag that people seem to like, but I am more comfortable with a hard case to protect my gear.

The only one that I can tell might fit would be from Gator.

I really love the fretwire used in my JT-400JJ. I'm going to be putting together a bass from Warmoth parts. So, I was wondering if anyone could tell me what fretwire option from Warmoth is the closest to The Bass Company (Invalid Link Removed)?

Thanks!

They are very temtping and for the price, I'm willing to take a punt on one, the ebay store currently just has one, a 4 string.. Ideally im looking for a 5, and ebay seems to be the only way to get them to europe, could anyone help?

I've got a 400SS (dual soapbars) and when connecting to effect pedals I have to crank up the sensitivity on the pedals as it doesn't appear that the bass is putting out a hot enough signal. This is with the preamp on the bass set flat. I could crank up the EQ on the bass and that would help, but I'm trying to not drain batteries so quickly.

I've changed batteries to no avail, but to compare this with an fender active P (which puts out a very hot signal compared to this), it's almost nothing. String height is very low and the pickups are close to the strings.

Any ideas?
