haha I love how many people want this thing. I thought I was the only one who was about to design this thing myself I wanted one so bad. HA if this doesn't fall through I'm going to make something!
Not sure - frankly I'm having a much harder time finding out about the cool stuff from NAMM this year than I usually do. Most of the time it's all over the place but this year I've only heard about the Gibson and Fender stuff...
I didn't get an alert on this thread, had computer issues and cleared all history, cookies, etc. I'm interested in this mute as well. The London Music show will be just a little difficult to get to from NH by car, me thinks
I emailed Ellio Martina earlier today and he let me know that he's finally got a production run of about 120 pieces ready to go. He's taking about 20 to the London Bass show and he has basses he's bringing as well, so he won't have time to assemble them all before heading to London in March. He'll make an announcement after the London show that the Bassmute is available again and at that time he'll be taking orders. I gave him the link to this thread and he said he'd update here as well.

They've always been partly plastic. The base and the rod are metal, the piece that holds the foam to the rod is plastic.
Just thought I'd provide an update here: I ordered 2 chrome Bassmutes about 3 weeks ago from Ellio and the tracking info says that they just arrived in the States yesterday. Hopefully I'll have them in the next few days!
I've also placed an order today for (2) mutes after talking to Ellio earlier this morning and posted about this on a different thread not realizing this one existed.

Glad you placed an order - I'm dying over here waiting for mine. It's been like 4 years or something that I've been hunting these down but man alive, these next few days are going to be torture!
Indeed, I initially sent in my request form 07/15 and never heard from anyone. So, I had emailed Edwin, and we kept in touch much like yourself. I followed-up with Edwin last week, that's when he told me he wasn't selling the Bassmute anymore and I would have to contact Ellio directly. I'm very happy this is back in production and I hope it proves to be worth the wait.

Thanks for letting us know that the bass-mute is once again available. I just placed my order with Ellio. Decided to go for the black version since it will tried out on a few different basses. Now, to wait patiently for it to arrive, or perhaps not so patiently...
