Yes I would bet they are, that two way crossovers are being used. Thats the whole basis for the discussion between "A" versions and "B" versions.

I had the chance to play through one of these when I was buying my TC Classic 450. The HD212 is definitely on my short list of cabinets to buy. Its extremely balanced sounding and very clear. Note definition is just wonderful. Really nice piece of gear!

This cab is so amazing, it's just all there.
just wanted to bump thread again...

and this is with "dead" strings...I may burst when I put on new ones..
I may just be a Bergie player for a long, long time.
and Aguilar as well, although this is my first experience with them.

+1. I just got the Junior Varsity version of this cab (HD112), and paired with my Classic 450, the note clarity is very nice. To my ears, a noticeable & big improvement over the GS112 stack I had previously.

He has always done a great job of getting a real, useable low end that sounds big out of his cabs, but the cabs still crank with moderate power. For example, my AE212 and AE410 SING with the typical 500 watts at 4ohms.

I've also found that the HT 12" drivers (the same driver is in the new HD112) are the 'king of the hill' for being able to handle a big gob of power, and to stay defined an open at high volumes. I include his HT112ER in my definition of a 'super 12' (i.e., in the same company of the amazing cabs built around variations of the 3012LF neo driver).

And, sounds like he is taking mechanical limits into account on his power ratings, which is not surprising given Jim's background and the overall excellence of his design. There are quite a few of his cabs that don't match up to my voicing goals, but there hasn't been one that hasn't been impressive in its own way IMO.

are magical, no doubt. I've owned 4, and they've ALL been the best cabs I have ever owned, and some of the smallest. The little IP112ER stack gets unbelievably loud for a rig this size. When I think back to how LITTLE my first bass amp, the blackface Fender Bassman 50 with 2x12's put out, and then this thing....holy crap! It's like a 63 Porsche 356 vs a 2012 911 Turbo... they look similar, but holy ****!

It's like a small nuclear warhead for bass. With the Summit tube front end, it is STILL the best bass rig I have EVER heard. I still gotta find a an IP 212 or 310 one of these days...

I've had my HD212 for three weeks now. It took about a week and one good gig to really start to loosen up. I have noticed that the drivers are much warmer sounding at low volumes once they did break in a bit. This cab is amazing how it will punch you in the gut when my Aguilar DB751 isn't even being pushed too hard.The cab also takes EQ very well you can really get the modern tones out of it. At least as modern as my flat wound P-Bass allows. And it wil do the deep flat wound tone too. Very receptive to amp settings.
