I have this listed for sale or trade for a 1x12 Berg. I think I would prefer the smaller cab. Bergantino HD212

Actually, I love the HD212, so don't anyone take this quick sale as a insult to the cab. I own a Berg 6x10 which I just love. I wanted to get a smaller more portable package and I though the HD212 would be the answer. But the HD212 is still too big. I should have bought a pair of HD112s. Live and learn, buying things sight-unseen. But if you want a 2x12, this cab is fantastic.

I wish I could afford the HD series. I'm out of work and have been for quite some time. BUT...I have a chance to pick up an HT-212 for about half the price of the HD. The cab is used and in nice condition. Just have to go check it out. I plan to pair it with a Carvin B2000 (or B1500if I can find a used one).

Yeah, man, there ain't nuthin' wrong at all with a B1500 pushing an HT212! That setup will surpass many rigs costing a good bit more. :cool: :D

The good news is the neo price scare has really settled out. Still more expensive than two years ago, but that crazy spike in prices is gone.

Hopefully Jim is working on a revised neo line. I'm sure these HD cabs sound great, but doesn't seem to be a lot of buzz on them. The AE line was amazing, and I'm hoping to see it back in one form or another.

The AE212 continues to be among the best cabs I've ever heard. Since I like it WAY more than the HT112ER stack, I would assume the difference between the AE212 and the heavier HD212 is just that... a 'difference' versus 'better or worse'.

Finally got a nice cover from Studio Slips, a Rock-n-Roller cart. and with my Aguilar TH500 on top...I feel VERY confident about just about any stage...!! You get used to picking it up--keep that back straight! bend those knees!

It really does growl well...and I haven't really opened it up yet!!
Haven't had the need to! Nothing but compliments!

Any tonal attributes you could mention compared to other cabs you've played? I keep hearing how great these are, but not many descritpions of the tone...

Tom, not sure if it's been covered before, but would you say that the HD212 is roughly the same as the HT/EX112-ER pair? I know the highs will be slightly different to the different tweeter and x-over used, but is it more similar than different, and would the overall volume output/capability be the same?

I know Ken's mentioned before that he thinks they're the same driver as the HT-ER's, but I didn't know if that actually came from Jim himself.

It is the same driver and the same tweeter. I am not sure about the crossover. I've been meaning to do this A/B for a while, but I need to get my two HT112ER's and my HD212 in the same room together...

After trying out lotsa amps in recent weeks, I am a few days away from pulling the trigger on a Mesa Walkabout. It far and away is the best amp I've heard for my tastes anyway. I'm in love with Jim's 12"s - I had an HT/EX112 stack for a while and now play through an NV412. I plan on playing through the NV for a few practices/gigs before making a change. BUT, I am very intrigued by the HD212. I'm jonesing for the depth of a ported cabinet and loved the sweetness of the HT's tweeter. I tried the WA with a Mesa PH cab and loved the depth, but found that combo a bit dark for my taste. Really want to stick with Bergantino. The NV feels like a bit of overkill with the current band. I'm thinking the HD212 might be a better size and if needed later on could add a second one, running the WA at 500w into 2ohms, which should kill.

Anyone tried a WA with these cabs have a perspective on the tone & volume differences? We play mainly old school country, rock and blues jam band stuff.
