I had the cash, my main "big" cab was a Avatar 4x10 neo. I really wanted to move up a level of cab, ya know?

and I figure I can still find a used cheaper one down the line for real small gigs....

Congrats with the new cab! What made you go for the HD212 instead of 2 112s? Did one 212 sound very different from 2 112s?

My AE212 (I believe the exact same box dimension as the HD212) and my Kart-a-bag Super 600. Extremely lightweight, super rugged, and easy to get over curbs and up and down a few stairs without unloading if needed.

For a cab as large and powerful as the AE212/HD212, this is a dream schlep 'one trip wonder' that can knock a wall down!

I own an HD1x12 and love it. It's the HT112 on steroids.. it's got more growl and midrange.. it's a bit awkward to carry because only one handle exists (werid, but less cutouts I guess). I love the HD112.. I know this thread regards teh HD212, but I cannot imagine the power and thunder of the HD212 based on the power of the HD112. I generally,f or shows, use the single HD112 head and it suffices for stage volume.. with the HT112 cabinet, that never happened.. I always had to add a 2nd 8 ohms cabinet. I think the construction of the cab (baltic birch) is 2nd-to-none in quality.. the horn is soothing and "musical.." not like most horns in other cabs (HT112 is musical as well).

The brand is called 'Kart-a-bag'. Expensive, but worth every penny. The downside is that the platforms are relatively small, but the built in bunjee cords keep everything nice and secure. A 410 is a bit too big and wide, but for 2 x 112 rigs, smaller 212's like the HD and AE212's, and small 210's like the HD210, this cart (it is the Super 600 model) rules.

Don't buy from the company website, since most on-line luggage stores and Amazon have decent discounts over the manufacturers price. However, still well over $100, but should last a lifetime.

It is literally a piece of gear that was 'lifechanging' for me, since I am a freelancer, and often do the 'big city downtown' thing, where parking is a drag, and the schlep to the gig can be challenging (i.e., long walks, curbs, loading dock stairs, long walks to the actual venue once in a hotel, etc., etc.).

your advice and wisdom (lol, but I am being serious) is always appreciated. I have a dolly from costco that literally fell into 3 pieces.. it WAS nice, cost $40, and lasted about 7 months. I too, while I don't likely play as much as most around here, play at least 4 times monthly and often have stairs, etc to worry about. It amazes me that $100 seems expensive, yet people blow that on special out-to-dinner meals.. so $100 for something that lasts is really not too bad a deal.. I like the bungee cord deal as well. I found one on amazon.com for $79, fyi.. free shipping incl.

FYI.... makes sure it is the Super 600 model (that is an AMAZING price for a Super 600). The smaller Concourse models (or whatever they are called) are great for small cabs, but would not handle a 212.

Ken that dolly looks very rugged. I use the magna cart folding dolly (Costco $29.95) . Yes in the last two years I have burned through 2 or 3 of them but they are SO useful, always keep one folded up in the car, makes grocery trips, etc a breeze. (I sound like a commercial lol)

But Costco recently started carrying the flatbed version of this, that folds down flat. If you don't have to jump curbs, and you have a relatively flat roll in, (most hotels, convention centers) this "flatform" dolly offers a larger surface that accomadates 410 cabs, where the Magnacart has a smaller load carrying surface.

The "Flatform" at Costco is only $49 buckaroos, and it's easier to pull the load with this thing, (it has a great handle) than to manage the weight/balance/load pulling that a two wheel dolly scenario presents.

For AE/HD212 users, the magnacart is perfect, like Ken says you can roll in from blocks away, just tuck your micro head in your gig bag pocket and your on your way.

I have not seen the HD212 handles, but I understand that is the case. The AE212 is a bit strange when carrying it, due to the placement of the handles. I assume Jim got that feeback and adjusted the design. I think the HD212 is also front ported. I just meant that I believe the box dimensions are the same (I think!).

perhaps I am hard on gear, but this costco cart broke literally into pieces after 7 months.. perhaps the stairs did it in.. the bottom also "bent" ... carrying 2 Berg 12 cabs.. about 50 lbs each.

+1 Sometimes you get what you pay for. Nice design, low quality. And, without stair walkers and a simple, integrated bunjee system, unusable for me. Nice low cost option for lightweight cabs when you are just going from the parking lot to the club though.

I believe I paid around $159 for mine. That is the typical cost if you search various luggage on-line stores. Lifetime investment, and nothing out there even close to being as good. That being said, if you don't do long, difficult schleps, you probably wouldn't need it, and the Costco type cart would be fine.

Best money I've ever spent though, again, for the requirements of my gigging as described above. For many, it would be a luxury though, so +1. For the full time (or in my case, part time but gigging a lot) freelancer... worth double the money!

Stairs with the light weight magna cart? not really surprised you nuked it. It's a light duty cart, with that telescoping handle and light weight aluminum frame, pretty easy to bend the rails on that thing, (I've gone through 2 of those things)

Not really the Ford Ranger of dollies that's for sure. I think it's meant mainly for flat rolls, not a lot of curb jumping and probably zero stair action.

I think thats the trade off for a featherweight collapsable micro dolly. What Ken said, you get what you pay for.

Its the same cart I have had for 3 years or so. The HD212 fits it perfectly. Used it last Saturday for the first time with the HD212. With my Gator Bag for my Tone Hammer 500 laying on top and the carrying strap wrapped around the handle it was a one trip easy load in.

A wonderful cart and folds up very compact.

On another note I have been waiting for over two weeks for my HD212 cover. I guess putting the handles in a different spot threw the cover manufacturer for a loop.

Can anyone comment on the top end of the 12s by themselves with the tweet off? Are they similar to, say the NV412 which is spec'd to the 4.5K range?
