Are the battery boxes for the Bongo the same as this: Gotoh BB-04W Double 9 Volt Battery Compartment Box ?
I know I can order this from EBMM but I saw this box locally and they look the same. The box on mine has issues opening up, and sometimes pushes out on its own. Definitely needs replacing.

I'm not sure, I never noticed a trim pot on mine. I'll check mine tonight though. The only time I've ever opened the control cavity on my bongo is to tighten the output jack. I find that I have to do that like every 6 months.

I can open mine up again too and see. Again, likely just a volume output trim pot.
Can you show us a pic of yours? Maybe circle what you're talking about because I don't recall one and I've opened up mine before and can't remember seeing it.

Some pictures. Also, I believe that I read (or saw on YouTube) that some Bongos don't have a center-dent on the balance pot. This one does.
Nice, I saw them a few weeks ago myself. Part of me thinks Labrie should retire unfortunately. My dream at this point would be if Myung, Petrucci, Rudess, and Portnoy got back together to form a new band with Devin Townsend and wrote some of their own material while throwing in pre-Mangini DT tunes. I doubt Devin would be interested in that though.
I do think he's beyond his ability to play some of their older material. He struggled a lot with the higher end notes which kinda ruined it for me, especially during the Count of Tuscany, but nostalgia made up for it. I would love to see someone take over his singing.
I was mostly there to see John Myung. I have been struggling personally a lot to play at all the last 2 years and lacked all the motivation, even after close to 2 decades of consistent playing, but watching JM again has given me back the spark back and I'm glad about that.
So Ive been trying to sell my 2018 Bongo BFR for awhile now and Im not getting any bites. When I first looked up the sold listings on Reverb, there was only 2. One for $4,000 and one for $3,600. I listed mine for $3,500 and Ive moved down to $3,250 and still not getting any. Am I that far off on my pricing?

Doubt either of the other two sold for that much, I'd guess $2500-2700 is more realistic
But then again, you may just need to wait for the right customer, but could take a long time.

I agree with PrimitiveMan. These basses arent for everyone but another Bongo player would love to have it. Also theres more 5 string players than 6 so it might take longer. Its a beautiful instrument tho!
digging this dark metallic purple BFR 5er.. wish I could scoop it up! Never seen that combo before. On reverb in Rhode Island.

I had a fretless bongo. Painted neck. I hated the neck. Roasted maple by far my favorite
I don't mind the painted neck but over time it seems to gloss up and get sticky. I use scotchbrite to keep it matte. Need to do this before any outdoor gig especially with humidity here in NC. I keep a scotchbrite pad and a towel in my case.
