I’m not sure but I’m happy it’s unpainted. Not that I don’t like the unpainted but I enjoy the oil/way more.I'm curious why they went with standard maple over roasted maple on the newer unpainted necks
Maybe just to separate from the Stingray Specials?
Double Dazzler (do it!!)I’m not sure but I’m happy it’s unpainted. Not that I don’t like the unpainted but I enjoy the oil/way more.
I keep going and and forth between a 4HH and a 6HH.
I’ve been messing with the idea for awhile now? Do I at 43… have the fortitude?
If I go 4HH I’ll be moving my Dazzler Ray Special 4H. Because not sure I can have 2 dazzlers. Maybe that Special turns into something else….
Ever since I saw the Dazzler finish on the Ray I’ve lusted after a Bongo in Dazzler and they answered.
I need TB to help push me into financial choices haha.
I had a feeling I’d get some sweet advice from you!Double Dazzler (do it!!)
Holy smokes dude that finish looks AMAZING. I don’t think I’ve seen that one before! That’d look great on a Stingray OR a Bongo- just imagine the matching painted headstockI had a feeling I’d get some sweet advice from you!
I did see a Violet Sparkle Burst in person on Saturday at Chicago Music Exchange - OMG it’s gorgeous. Kinda thinking I’d want a StingRay Special in that….
But double dazzle.
Life is so hard these days lol…

I never really enjoyed a high C string, if you have a 5, you could restring it E-C and see if you like the extra range. Before you drop the cash on Bongo 6.I’m not sure but I’m happy it’s unpainted. Not that I don’t like the unpainted but I enjoy the oil/way more.

I support operation double dazzler!
I agree about 35 scale and high c. I had a Cirrus 6 for a bit and it was too twangy.I have a modulus Q5 sweet spot. 35” and set up for a very specific purpose lol (.168 low string). Not a fan of the high C on 35” scale. Have had 6’s before. I tend to ignore the low B and noodle the C while on 5 I’m always like “how did I live without the low B” 4 always feels like home. I do toy with the idea of E-C but then I’ve always wanted to conquer the 6 and have never done so.
I’ll definitely keep you all posted. Grrrr same old same old or stretch my fabric a little?I agree about 35 scale and high c. I had a Cirrus 6 for a bit and it was too twangy.
Well if you invest in a really nice 6 you will more likely try to make it work maybe?
We look forward to living through you vicariously lol!
I saw'r a Goldbar 5 on social medias thar someone had just picked up...really sharp! I have a feeling, like most BONGOs...it looks even better in person!Gold Bar is choice as well. Really really like that one as well. Pretty sure my music man collection is going to be Bongos coming up here… keep an eye I. The classifieds for Ray Special 4H and a vintage Sterling in excellent by any standard and especially for its age.
The Gold Bar calls em too… wouldn’t think I’d like that… I’m going with a Dazzler though. I have that finish on a Sting Ray Special and it being available on a Bongo is making me move my Special for a Dazzler Bongo.Just last night I was bored and decided to check the MM website for anything new and saw those nice new Bongo finishes. Dang, makes me want to get a 6'er to go with my Bongo5. I owned a 6 string Bongo for a brief minute but it was not well taken care of and I think there was something wrong with the truss rod that prevented it from getting the relief right so I sold it. That Goldbar finish has been tempting me for years since the time I first saw it on what I seem to recall being a Darkray.

Obsessed.
