That looks like the discontinued Medallion Gold. EBMM has offered all different hues of Gold and Orange over the years and sadly, most of them didn't sell well enough to stay in the lineup.

My Bongo is True Gold which I believe was only actually available for about a year around 2009. Here is a pic of her next to my Trans Orange SR5 and Trans Red Sterling.

I've heard nothing but rave reviews about the flexibility of the 4 band pre-amp in combination with the pickup blend, and this bass surely does not disappoint.

Honestly I couldn't tell you, the only Bongos I've been able to put my hands on in the past six months have been these PDN ones. I'm sure that there is some difference between basswood and mahogany, but my ear isn't disciplined enough to hear it.
