Congrats, now gig that sucker and report!
I really don't slap, but between the high mid and treble controls you can tailor this slice of highs. Aside from the blend, I use the high mid for most of my tone tweaks.
I played the Bongo for about half of my gig last night. I would have played it more , but I only had about an hour practice time on it total since I got it on Friday. The bass played and sounded incredible. I didn't want to play the Bongo on the two songs that I have little slap solos on because I've never had a 5 string before , but the band started the songs before I told them that I wanted to switch to my Pedulla. I actually slapped a lot better on the Bongo than I thought I would without practicing on it.
I never thought I'd say this (as per my user name) , but I like the Bongo better than my Pedulla. After the gig was over we let the drummers son and his guitarist play two songs before we tore down. I was talking to some people and all of a sudden I hear my bass fire up. I look on stage and my guitarist is up there jammin' out on my bass with them. When he got done playing the Bongo he told me that he couldn't believe how good it played and sounded. He's played around on my Pedulla quite a bit and he told me that he also likes the Bongo better than my Pedulla. He said "Whatever you do - don't sell that bass!!!" I'm pretty sure that if one has to go - it will be the Pedulla. I never thought I'd say that!!!!
