Anybody put steels on their Bongo for more aggression & clarity? Which ones?

LOL....just went the opposite route and put flats on mine. Seeing as how it has the piezo option it just seemed like the right thing to do.

Haven't had a chance to play it in a band setting yet (next Weds) but it sure is smooth and thumpy.

Thats the cool thing about the Bongo... it can be just about anything.

Personally I'm looking for snarly grindy aggression!

Dudes, I am going to be a member real soon. Just ordered my first Bongo yesterday with Mike @ Bass Central - Stealth 4HS. Psyched. Should be here in 3-4 weeks!

Thanks Jay! I've always wanted to buy a bass from them since I first heard about them but it never happened until now.
I've been buying my Roscoe & Lull's from Greg @ Rocket Music.
I have 5, 5 strings & want a 4 banger - Stealth Bongo HS it is.

I will be happy to post pics when she arrives (Musicman is making her as I type!).
I believe Bass Central & I will be like Peas & Carrots!

I recently saw an ad with an orange Bongo it. Have they brought back lava orange? Or is it a new orange color?

Hmm... I've just found what happened, but I don't know why: My hard disk died last week and I've just replaced it. I had a copy of the members list in a second hard disk but, for an unknown reason to me, it's an old version (and I'm sure I kept backing up the latest one). I'm going to fix that right now.

Excellent playing and tone, novenpeter.

I've been in a recording frenzy lately, and even though my Bongo is badly in need of a proper setup (I'll have one done as soon as the weather in Montreal has stabilized for late spring), it still puts out an incredible tone, with very little tweaking necessary.

Here's what I and my friend CarboHydroM did to celebrate Metroid Metal's 10th anniversary: a re-arrangement/cover of their NES Metroid ending theme.

Just bought back my old Bongo 5HH/p in Cabrenet Pearl. Working on getting back another previously owned HH/p in Saphirre Black. My old basses seem to be coming back home!

You are going to love it. These Stealth Bongos are pure sex!

They sound fantastic and play just as good as they sound. The Stealth configuration is my absolute favorite with the Tangerine Pearl being my second favorite.

Thanks for the reply. I have never owned an Ebony fb so excited about that; not to mention the other cool visual and sonic possibilities that the Bongo offers. I have owned a Sterling MM and miss it.

My buddies teased me about the "Toilet Seat Bass", but I love the crapper-design.

I have 5 "fancy" basses and gig every weekend with most of them, so I don't care what others' think. I am really psyched to own a Bongo 4 string, especially a Stealth. I am looking forward to the email from Bass Central with my tracking # and will post pics when she is here.

OK, but please notice that one of the rules of this club, as stated by its founder (not me) is:

it has to be a picture of YOUR bass, and not one of someone else's or a stock pic, or a pic someone else who owned your bass previously took.
