Shame that it's so dang heavy. If it were 10.5 instead of 11, I could probably convince myself to do it. My present 6 HS weighs 10.2 and feels like a beast after gigs... don't think I can make myself do 11.

I just took the big padded Leather Strap off and I am getting ~10.4 lbs with the weigh myself first then with bass. I just did this 3 times.
is the bongo 4 h eq the same as the stingray? i know its an 18 volt, but the eq is what I'm looking for, (same as stingray)....

I play a Bongo 4 HS. I don't use the H pickup alone but what changes the tone is the blend knob. When I use to own a Stingray I find the low end is lacking without boosting the bass, but on a bongo HS the low end is huge that I have to back off.
If I use the H pickup alone it sounded similar to Stingray but if I blend the S pickup I get that low end that is missing on the H pickup alone. Once I found the sweet spot on the blend, I can start adjust the EQ depend on the room etc. Everything tend to be flat but when I do adjust the EQ I boost a little bass and dial in the mid to my liking.

Interesting to see how times and people change. I remember Mr. Sterling Ball saying years ago that they tried a Bongo bass with maple neck at the factory and it was hideous. So, a Bongo bass with maple neck wasn't supposed to ever see the light of day.
I just got my first Bongo today; my first new bass in 15 years. That's the Candy Red. Without even haggling, they offered it to me for $100 less than the price on the website, and the website price was much below the nearest competition. I had no idea how this would happen other than that people are holding out for the maple fretboard but for the price the fretboard color wasn't a dealbreaker so I bought it for a great price.
Coincidentally, I just got the pool table in the background today, a table for which I have been waiting for about 6 months! A mid-late 60's Brunswick Gold Crown II.
