SWR used to make the Silverado Special which was a 2x12. It was the main difference between the Super Redhead and the Silverado. 2x10 or 2x12. I do love the depth my 15 adds to the tone, but the 12 adds the punch and clarity.

Here's my 'if I need it' rig. R200c(15")/R112(12"). There are only a coupla places we play that I can use both but oh, do they sound sweet together.

You see, that’s why I didn’t go and look up the weight. Let’s pretend it’s made from the same ABS plastic the KBD and Dog’s Vox combo is made of and call it a day.
GP’s right. You’ll get as many opinions as there are bass players on this forum. I haven’t owned a 2 X 12 combo bass amp, but my current 210 combo has oodles of low end available on demand. It’s all in the design from what I can tell. A well-built 2 X 8 can bring it as well. Look at the Phil Jones stuff for further proof.
It seems as the GK MB212 II has s universally loved. 500 watts, reasonable weight, GK tone. You could do a lot worse.
I seem to like the 115s these days.
I don't remember(a lot of things)ever seeing a 2x12 bass combo. My 2x12s were the cabs from 2 piggyback Bassmans.<EDIT>OK, I sit corrected. GK has the MB 212 combo bass amp-500w, 2x12, 41#, $900. Still have never seen one-for which my wallet thanks me.<ADDENDUM>If the Prize Patrol shows up, I'll get one and review it.(don't hold yer breath)

So out of peer pressure (and the strong desire to carry on the conversation), I clicked the Roadcase link and found the weight to be 74 lbs. The pop you’re now hearing is my back prepping to move the PJB. What’s cool though is the frequency goes down to 34 Hz. That’s low, folks. 5-string territory if you ask me.
I checked that PJB. I would really like to play one before shelling out $2700! I mean, that is a new Modulus bass right there. Same goes for the Gk. Not sure if I have ever been a GK guy. SWR, DNA, Eden have been my go to amps since the mid 1980's.

, an ABS housing could take 20-30 lb.s off that 84 lb. weight, depending on bracing needs. Would that be light enough?I assume that "PJB Neo Power" speakers are as lightweight as other comparable Neos?

PJB link clearly says 84 lb.s to me, having had eye exam just 2 months ago. 20/20 (corrected)!.

I saw that same number first, but upon reading the fine print literature a little further down, I saw the 74 lb (or whatever I typed) weight and figured the ten pounds were possibly packing materials. Thoughts?
You know me only too well. Actually I did have a back spasm this morning as I was bending over cleaning a spill. Hurt like the dickens too. I’m not used to this sedentary lifestyle I’ve recently inherited. And then grabbing my birthday present box from the UPS guy didn’t help. I don’t know if I’m welcoming 59 years of age or dreading it!
As for a fiver...no thank you. I have enough trouble stumbling over four strings! Plus, after a decade of getting used to this fretboard I’m not going to add another blooming string and mess it up!

Just came back from a refreshing walk. I need to do that more instead of sitting on my rumpus typing on the phone. I’m being urged to ice the back, but who has time while there’s an exciting world out there to explore...like Australia?
Now onto opening up birthday gift to see if said gift works. If so, it’ll be ready for me to dive in and glue up its insides. I also ordered the foam panels to deaden the Rumble 100 a bit. A fun week ahead, no doubt!
BTW, thanks to you club members for completely blowing off my fun-as-heck guessing game about which amp arrived today. I mean, Mike Tyson was the only submitted answer. So that’s what I’m naming this baby beast.
