The Combo Club

I'm really thinking about the Fender Rumble 500. Have to go out to Guitar Center and try it. Ilke the fact that I can pair it with a cabinet and still stay under $900-$1,000 if I need a bit more.

Also, the fact that you can haul both cabs to the gig and back and not have your body filing damage reports to the police. For most gigs, the 500 should do ya, but if you skim the back pages you'll find plenty of happy Fender folk talking up their Rumbles. I myself have two; the 100 for practice and jamming, and the Stage 800 for playing to a crowd of humans. If you go the modeling route you'll find some nice Ampegy-type tones that are very usable.

Keep us informed, Dennis. We're with ya in spirit and this forum.

Observing how much more time I give thought to amps than basses, strings, whatnot - has me wondering just what I got myself into....
Lolll Morri..Ya got yaself into a fun club where ya never gonna know what i'll say next, but you'll get loads of sensible advise from everyone else and a place to feel loved and warm and fuzzy with like minded musicians who are likely asking themselves that same darn question; but loving every minute of being together on a forum where love for something fills the soul to escape a world full of hate even if just for awhile. That's what you got yourself into.

If you’re me, the money pit! But like so many others have said on Talkbass, it’s my hobby, my passion, and one of my loves. I don’t drink, gamble, or chase women. The love of music and electronics is what I’ve been known for for half a century, and if buying the “occasional” guitar or amp is my worst offense, then “Lock Me Up!”

I don't drink..a glass of red wine per night as advised by my cardiologist, I buy the occasional lotto ticket and hope I don't win $30 million as it would cause more grief than happiness and a second marriage is enough for any one guy in any one lifetime loll

Our bodies react differently to stimuli as teenagers, and as adults, and as adult adults ;)

Would that $30 million current and useful monetary units be immediately available now to me, I daresay I could afford to pay someone to take the grief of having all that dosh. Heck, could afford roadies nae problemo.

Well i'd probably give 10mill to her kids, 10mill to my kids and keep the other 10mill just for the grieving loll

Beautiful pics, Giff. My recommendation is to pick up a Studio 40 for your bass and then to apply a cold pack to your back after you reach home. No charge for the advice too!

Welcome Ricardo. Look Morri lots of lovely PJ stuff...well Ricardo you made Morrighans day lol Not to mention a great collection of what appears to be 5 string basses. A man after my own heart lol Now that is WHOMP!!!
EDIT: If you wish a club number Ricardo just ask and the chief Fearless Leader Mike (iagtrplyr) will organise you one.

Wow, Ricardo, you really know how to make a grand entrance! Glad you found out about us. I’m always out there in TB-land promoting one of the most fun clubs on the forum. Welcome!

I will get you a number this evening before bedtime. Giff mentioned our gal Morrighan, who loves (and owns) PJB. I’m sure she’ll be on to offer us her special way with words.

He looking for me later,

Fearless Leader :bassist:
