The Combo Club

Hello - I am requesting a member number. I currently have a Rumble 100; Had the Rumble 25, 40 and 500 previously. The great news is: My Ashdown Studio 15 Combo is supposed to arrive today. 300W RMS, 1-15" NEO & only 24.5 pounds. Does not have an Ext Speaker Jack but I should never need it as I have no projected gigs in a size place that may require more air flow than provided. Besides, there is always FOH through the DI.
Tom, 67 with physical limitations. Playing since...memory banks computing...Hum...Oh, since I saw the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show.
Referred by my guy the "G-Dog."

LJB, welcome Bass Brotha to the Combo Club! I invite you, if you can, to take a picture of your new baby when she rolls in today and plaster it right here for all to look at. I will be getting you your number later today along with sneha1965’s as well. Very cool, and thanks so much for the personal info too. You’re welcome here to read, chat, politely challenge, reminisce, or talk about anything bass-related.

Members, the goal I set for the club recently is getting closer. I think we only need maybe a couple more new members to hit 150! I head off to school on Monday so let’s see what we can do to reach it.

‘Dog, you receive one Fearless a Leader Buck for brining in a newbie. One thousand bucks gets you the chance to choose between polishing M’s Solstice Eve or washing down GP’s garage door...your choice. Thanks Man!

Would love a number. Thanks!

Welcome sneha1965, you are member #147 as of right this minute! With it comes perks beyond your wildest dreams, though right now I can't quite remember any of them. Nevertheless, just hanging around here sponging years of info and experiences is all anyone ever needs. Enjoy and thanks for signing up!

LJB, congratulations, you will now and forever be known as member #148! The fact that you witnessed The Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show should automatically get you in this club, but that you also play bass and have a new combo amp showing up today makes it celebration-worthy. Thanks for joining our band of merry musicians!

And for all you new members this summer, a small token of appreciation to each and every one of you. Take this, our club emblem, and make it your desktop pic today in order to feel the love of this here club. Enjoy!

Vox Update in one word: Wow! (And I haven’t even plugged in yet) ... decided to go back and read the Doggie/KbD thread when they first bought their VX50ba combos. ... ..., I accidentally sliced my right index finger ..: order me a pair of those child-proof scissors ... ... Hey ‘Dog, why the heck didn’t you try talking me into this contraption earlier? :smug:

Sorry for your injury, FL.

Sorry, also, but I tried to talk you out of waiting on the Li'l Vox. But, some people! You just can't Torquemada anything.

My man, Jackie! I was messin' around with an old Silvertone acoustic guitar for a year, or two, when for Christmas '63 my Mom brought home a 45rpm record from the Camera/Greeting Card/Record store she managed. It was quite catchy! Both sides! So I learned to strum along. When I played them for her in January she then brought home their album, "Meet the Beatles". WOW!!! What an eye-opener!!! Then in February the whole family watched them on Ed Sullivan. My Dad, half disgusted, asked, "Is that what you want? To be a beagle?" I said, "Yeah, daddy, I do!" And I've kept plinkin' away at it ever since.

I'm not worthy! I'm not worthy to even touch the beautiful Solstice Eve! But I will choose to listen to M play her.

Okay, then book a reservation to Florida, bring along some good scrubbing cleanser, and enjoy washing Goner’s garage door. Great choice, ‘Doggie! :hyper:

BTW, wonderful Beatles and You story. Could see it playing in my mind. Oh, the carefree days of the sixties. At least when you’re heading to Kindergarten!

If listening to Solstice Eve is out, I'd be happy to work for GonePlaid any way he sees fit.

BTFW*, I was in 7th grade at the time. Not so carefree having to plan, and prepare for, your High School courses and choose between becoming a Beatle or an astronaut. Tough choices! Back when it was still called Junior High! 9th graders ruled!!!

Boom, indeed, Jackie! I love my Squier Bass VI, too. After breaking in the new Ashdown, and describing it to us please, you might wanna take a look at the Official Squier Vintage Modified Bass VI Club

Wow Dog. You too have a VI... Just got mine. Still undecided as to keeping it, as I want the Ibanez SR500E also. Just getting use to the closeness of the strings... I think I'm getting better with it...and it is very cool for the psychedelic jamming I love to do..ripping a few guitar licks then going back to the lower 4. And the feedback is awesome.

I'm tempted to connect the R100 using the effects loop but don't want to blow it all up. Yikes

FX Send from one combo to FX Return of another shouldn't pose any danger, Brucie. It just sends one combo's EQ'd signal directly to the power amp of the other, bypassing the other's pre-amp. Go ahead, live a little! (Not responsible for broken dishes, window panes, glasses, goblets, chalices, falling ceiling plaster, fractured joists, rafters, studs, sheetrock or any other damages!)
