Great idea!

I've not been to Abbey Road myself so it would be a new experience for me too.

How long are you thinking of staying? I can definitely recommend Liverpool. There's Mathew Street which has The Cavern Club and also The British Music Experience in the old Cunard Building.

I live between Bath and Salisbury, not far from Stonehenge, so there's plenty to see around here too.

Seriously though, I don't know how many other Brits are in this club but if any of you guys and gals are visiting the UK, I've been to most places on this island and would be happy to offer tips on what to see and do.

Now don't go making me miss my old 15 inch combo please, because it does hold a Peavey place in my heart. And that's a heavy feeling to hold.

Doctor, the itch is constant. As soon as I think I’m healed with one medication another itch pops right up and I have to start all over again.

Actually, I love the Vox combo. It’s broken in now and got full tubey on me. It’s a blast to play through and when I run my computer out into it I get full range, or at least as full as the speaker allows. No, it’s a keeper!

So why am I looking at Hartke? Why do men climb mountains? I miss facing a 115 to run through, but I’m only shopping right now anyway. I’m also hot on the Vox Mini Superbeetle rig at the exact same price as the HD-150. Go figure.

If you haven’t been reading, I ordered a replacement speaker, Eminence Alpha 8A, for the baby Ampeg, and the lady of the manor, M, is doing so as well. We both live that little combo and are just facing some fun with them.

The only thing I’m not doing is playing as much as I’d like to. How’ve you been?

I'm okay. Work is a good distraction and I look forward to the days when my little guy is with me. I'm going to jam this weekend - first time since last June - so that is exciting. I have a lot of good things in my life, so I try and focus on those.

I have tried out one of these at a local brick/mortar and had a blast with it. If I wasn't so enamored with my Rumble 500c, or was in the market - I give it serious consideration. A bit more than the Hartke - but more power and its only 24.6lbs!!!!!!!! :thumbsup::hyper::thumbsup:

I tried the Ashdown Studio15. Didn't do it for me. Sent it back. My SG sounded very honkey in the mids and distorted at 30% power. Just my experience. I had very high Hope's. Maybe had a lemon. Probably work with a Fender or Ibanez.

PS: My Rumble Studio 40 sounds much better with my SG.

Played a Precision through one and remember being very warm and full with plenty of punch. As is with the Rumbles, IMHO, sounded much better with the tweeter turned off! ;)

That's easy, M...have a can of Scotchguard handy.

Ah, the traditional bassist's tool, the venerable combo with a single 115. It sparks pleasant memories of my first Ampeg combo. That is until my back remembers picking up that 90 lb monster into the back of my Taurus wagon! And yet, it was a measly, by today's standards, 200-watt amp. Not a ton of bottom end either. Oh well.

Glad to hear you're hanging in there. It'll get easier with time. The jam sounds very cool! Let us know how it goes and with what weaponry you are bringing for it. I'm predicting the Peavy/VOX combination. Keep those positives out front and follow them all the way.
