I have a Peavey Max 110 from 2010 +/- that's 35#. Never could get the tone I want out of it. It 'lives' in the van as a "just in case" backup for whoever's amp might fizzle some night.
One thing I have found over 50 years of gigging GP, and a fair slice of those 50 years using a Peavey rig is that they are reliable and bomb-proof...so if the time comes when you need to use it, it wont let you down.
Yep. I brought it in the house yesterday while changing gigmobiles to see if it still worked. It does. And a little re- EQing and it doesn't sound all that bad. Kinda 'farts' out below A, but not too badly.

It's itty bitty but it has a sweet sound. As I mentioned I'm in an apartment so I haven't really opened it up yet. Hope yours doesn't disappoint. I just got here, don't want to be exiled already!
I think the reason I was very happy with my Peavey MKIV head and 1820 Cab was because for 95% of the time I used a Peavey Dyna Bass 5 string through the rig..a Peavey Bass Guitar through a Peavey amp..it really suited, but I do understand the reference to not finding the tone you wanted out of yours..mine also sounded great with a Ric 4003 through it but sounded like mush with a Fender Precision loll

I'm guessing the 'mudbucker' on the Epi EB-3 I was playing at the time was pushing the 10" spkr pretty hard. I'm gonna try the TBird with the EB Cobalt flats through it tomorrow-too late here tonight.
Actually GP Mike I used a beautiful little Gibson EB3 short scale through my Peavey rig when I first got it...I loved that bass guitar...she sounded pretty good really through the Peavey rig but was always a little indistinct sounding compared to my other basses at the time...still I loved that bass and kick myself for ever trading it in on another guitar..some things you will always regret and that was one of my biggest...had it for many years too.

Speaking of ships GP..our Prime Minister is FINALLY sending help to evacuate thousands affected by the bushfires..they had to shelter in the ocean..The Govt. has sent this ship to help out. Named after the city I live in..HMAS Adelaide. (HMAS Adelaide LHD (Amphibious Assault Ship known as Landing Helicopter Docks)
