I remember more than 50 years ago my old dad, who was a hi-fi specialist, told me that if I wanted good bass response from my cabinets make sure they are in a corner or close to a corner wall..he was right as my hi-fi woofer speakers never sounded better and fuller sounding in those positions. The same positioning applies to bass guitar cabs for best response. Close to a wall at home, or at a gig if possible. Glad it works well for you too gigetto.
The near position around wall or corners permit my little little combo to reveal against giants more powered with the band, such solid rock bottom end, not very low, emphatized character of 8" that is not too brilliant but very neutral. 45w of insane power permit you to play around well if necessary with DI out.

The fine manual that came with my PJB BG-400 advises the combo to be placed on the floor, and near a wall or corner if possible.
That's exactly what I do with the subwoofer for my stereo system.

It's, of course, very different from the 34 1/2" scale Thunderbird, but feels and sounds good for situations that call for upright-ish tone. Kind of a poor man's EB-2.
Not untrue. Part of the problem, amp wise, is if it still works, I keep it. One advantage of living by myself-no one bitc.....,er, gripes about my gear.
