Does it weigh 900 Kg? (Peavey joke for previous Peavey owners), and basically, what do you think of it? I also want to know if the grill rattles at all because I've read where new customers complained about a lot of noise coming off the grill area when their bass amp got a-thumping. Thanks, FBQC!

I have spent the better part of this morning (hey, I'm on summer vacation for goodness sake) sifting through the thousands of motto contributions made by club members, and boy was a lot of them terrible. I'm not even gonna attempt the Kasino. Best guess? ~140#
My vote would be 01, mostly because it's the most ambiguous*, not saying anything that hints there's an amp in the vehicle(fine as a garment, though).

I bought this combo a few weeks ago after I've read a review of the Peavey minimax 500 here on TB (I was impressed by the fact that this amp was compared to an Aguilar TH 500 and the reviewer actually preferred the minimax over the TH). I had also viewed some videos of the Max combo series and I wanted a combo amp for a while now for a couple of projects I am part of that do not need a big amp for rehearsals. For now, it is installed in the basement and it is replacing a Gallien Krueger MB500 Fusion that was driving a Bergantino CN212. I really like the quality of the sound that is coming out of the combo, for the practicing I am doing it is just perfect and it replaces the mentioned amp/cab perfectly for this intent.

The sound is great with either passive or active basses. It has different inputs for each one of those (using the active input reduces the input by 10db and it balances the output accordingly). The combo weight is 44 lbs so not too heavy. I do not have the grill rattle yet anyway. For the selling price they go for and the quality of sound that comes out of this model (I didn't tried any of the others the max series is offering), I am very happy.

I had a hankering to try our their 2 X 8 because I thought it might be a solid all-around combo at a good price. Glad you signed up!

115 and I have turned off the tweeter, sound more to my liking this way.

Re, sorry about forgetting your 110. In fact, I believe you were the first to show off the new Max line. Could an army be slowly building up? I dunno, Fender Rumbles are way ahead, but I like the variety!

This would require loading it in my van(by myself), driving to somewhere that has a commercial scale(?), unloading it(me), rolling it in[wherever], rolling it back out to the van(me), loading it in the van(me), driving home, unloading it(me again), and putting it back in its corner of the living room. I like y'all....but not that much.
