I'm gonna work out on the J fora bit because my motto is, "Never Say Die!" until I finally say, forget it. Actually, we're almost speaking to one another on a first-name basis after a little tone tweaking and a long talk. My problem is I've left my old Jazz tone for more of a P-tone and I'm still trying to dial it in. Obviously, it's not exact, but just the same, it's not too bad. Funny thing is I'm so used to the short-scale bass that my arms wear out holding that "monstrous" 34" scale bass after a while.

Then I'll grab my gal, the Roguester, for what I see as the more acoustic/folk stuff. I don't care what anyone says until you try a hollow-bodied bass, you have no idea how rich those tones are coming out. I mean the Rogue is a cheaply-made bass with decent construction of low-grade parts, and I love it to death. Slap it with an acoustic guitar and that boomy mid-bass holds everything up. I dunno, maybe it's just me.

Doc, have a wonderful weekend, and just know the basses are patiently waiting for you to put them through any one of your 600 VOX amps!

I first saw snow-in person-at boot camp. They woke us up to shovel it offa the steps to the barracks. I have no use whatsoever for that[stuff].

I'll remind myself to post one of our winter storms if one actually shows up in January. At this point, who knows?

That doesn't bother me any as I'd rather be in school, but can she mandate that the virus ain't gonna take a big chunk out of my behind as well?

Must've been top secret 'cuz I could barely make out a single word other than to always use quality connectors when hooking up bass to amp. That made perfect sense. 'Dog, does this mean we're gonna have to pay to use the word now? Does that fall under some legal aspect of copyright law? Get our attorney on the phone and let's get this straightened out. RR uses Scmhackeroon more than anyone; we can't afford to cover it with no one gigging and paying dues. Oh, the drama of it all...

In 50 years I've never missed a winter. I'm not big on winter sports right now, but it's presence has been a defining aspect of my life. I doubt I could live without it.

Yeah. We even have a name for them in Canada: 'snowbirds'. A lot of Canadians that are retired like to spend their winters in the southern US if they can afford it. I have relatives that do it.

That's funny. We tip in Canada, so I'm not sure why folks would stop over the border.

Having spent a career clean of all tipping, it's harder for me to get used to a client's tip now. And absolutely grateful for the tip, upon consideration. But certainly not used to it.

Not being a waiter(or waitress), I don't have direct knowledge. Maybe only certain ones? I'm aware that it isn't done in many countries. We often get tips for requests. They usually work out to ~$.25 each.

Many people think TIPS an acronym for, "To Insure Proper Service". But, since the tip usually doesn't appear until after the service, some see it only appropriate at a regularly attended establishment. On vacation they think, "I'm probably never coming back here and, if I do, it'll be so far in the future they won't remember me." I've actually heard something like that rationalization from an acquaintance before! But, the people I know who have waited tables say they tip generously out of, both, empathy and gratitude that they don't have to do it any more.
