The Combo Club

Just curious Obrad, what’s your tone with the TE? I’m guessing big mids and with your P-bass there’ll be super big mids? Or am I incorrect?

My Pbass is not so in the mids. It has a beautiful nice basses with Thomastik Flats. I also cut a mids a bit in a TA and cut 600 Hz on a Darkglass.
4x10'' got less mids then 12'' cabs, so all in all, I was really satisfied

That was my last question I wanted to ask but I already hit post reply. Ahh...flats. That would darken it up a bit and give you what I think is the ultimate feel for your fingers. Great rig!

Not officially a “combo” but it’s easy to carry and sounds killer. Had to sell the 800 last year and got a little extra this summer so the Bassdock 12 isn’t lonely anymore

I know this isn't a bass amp but thought you combo nuts might appreciate it. Currently on my bench. Doing a cap job and some re wiring for a customer. It's a 1962 Fender deluxe brown face.

Whew, that’s a beauty, BnW. Looks to be in tremendous shape too, especially being only two less years older than me! What would the retail been on that one back in ‘62?

Only about 46 schmackeroons. But now, with the demand on them, and the drop in the schmackeroon value? Forget it.

#$$%* Pandemic! Ya know, I remember when men were men, all basses had four strings and a schmackeroon actually was worth something. What happened to this world, RR? You seem to have a good grip on it. Tell us.

Happy Saturday morning to one and all! Have got the basses out after a couple of days of yard work and the fact it's gonna be in the low 90s today, but wanted to stop in and say hellooo before I head off to Neil Young-land today. Been listening to Harvest and am in the mood to jam.

Before that though, I wanted to enlighten those who haven't found "Band Geeks" on YouTube, to head to the computer or TV and do so ASAP. Band Geeks is a project headed up by Richie Castellano of Blue Oyster Cult. It's basically he, his wife, and their friends and family rocking out in the basement just like the rest of us, except for the fact that, unlike me, they're all super talented! It's been on for at least the past five years but #2 and I found them this summer and have thoroughly enjoyed all their covers, originals, and general silliness. After every time we watch them I think to myself, "Self, why don't we live next door to these guys?" Check 'em out if you like your classic rock a little on the hard side (though they play disco too) or are just curious because of such a grandiose recommendation.

Talk to ya'll later,

FL

I'm on vacation with my son. We're visiting the grandparents. It is great, but I miss my basses! I'm glad you are getting sometime to play this weekend. What set up are you using?

Only the low 90's? Big deal. Mid to high 90's here w/ 90% humidity. I walk to the mailbox(50')and back and my t-shirt is soaked. 'Course, we ain't got snow-which is a communist plot.
