The Combo Club

Let's have some fun.

1. What is everyone's main/favorite combo they own and use?

2. What combo is everyone hoping to get/try this coming year?

3. What is everyone's Holy grail combo?

Me:

1. My homebuilt GK combo
2. Fender Rumble 500c or 200c
3. Mesa Carbine 212

:)

1. R100/200c(tie)
2. R212 ext cab :bag:
3. [see 1.]

1. R100/200c(tie)
2. Kasino ext cab :hyper:
3. [see 1.]

I straitened that one out for you GP ;)

Well, since the R212 ext. cab is still, so far, a figment of The Rumble Club's imagination, maybe the Kasino ext. cab is more likely.

1- Ampeg BA210SP
2- Ampeg B-100r (had to buy a new speaker, waiting for it to come back from the shop)
3- Ampeg B15

1. Polytone Mini-Brute IV with new speaker
2. Newer Polytone Mini-Brute III
3. See #2

Okay, I'm into Polytones right now.

1. PJB BG-400 is my main/favourite combo amp. The big bonus I didn't know about is how well it records direct. This is a stupendous EQ.
2. What I'd like to try is an Ampeg BA210. I would love to give this a go.
3. That grail amp is the PJB BG-800. Ask me to turn up. Go ahead. Ask me. :smug:

I would love to see you rocking your #2. I think you’d find a way to tweak it to get about any tone you’d need. Stick it on a cart and haul it to future gig. Keep this one on your back burner, M.

1. My main/favorite combo is my Invalid Link Removed. Small & light enough for very easy one hand carry. Powerful enough for big acoustic groups. Versatile enough to get any tone I can imagine. :D

2. I am hoping to get to try this coming year a Vox Mini SuperBeetle guitar amp, or actually two, on bass! Yeah only 25W to the bass version's 50W, but a 10" speaker to the bass version's 8". Also, it can connect to a 2nd cab (which the bass version can't), hence the second matching MiniBeetle guitar amp with a matching 10" cab, to get the full 50W thru 2x10"s!

3. But my Holy grail combo, so far, would still be the Invalid Link Removed, preferably with a couple of Rumble 210 extension cabs to run those 800W awesome tonez thru 6x10"s! :woot:
.

On my final day as FL, I’m going to order our treasurer to secure funding (lots of schmackeroons) for a Stage 800 with a 007 inscription in gold. Find a spot in your music room...

Nice idea, donahue!

Okay, now that I’ve had a chance to read everyone else’s faves, hopes, and ultimate, I’ll offer you mine at this moment. Knowing me as I do, it could change in less than 24 hours.

1. Ampeg BA-108 v2+ (pound for pound, best-sounding combo, with attached toys, for recording)

2. C7’s Ampeg B100R or B115 v1 (tie)

3. Fender Stage 800 (it’s so good, it scares me)

Keep up the great conversation!

1 - My 30+ y.o. Carvin Pro Bass 150. It has been my gigging/practicing unit for so long, I can't imagine being without it. If all my other crap broke, I would be OK as long as I have this.

2 - Nope. Don't need or want anything more because I have my dream...

3 - GK MB212-ii

Great story. You’re a fortunate musician.

1. Right now, it would be my Markbass CMD102P. Easy to transport, easy to set up, and hecka loud.

2. Not really looking for anything more, though I may add a 2x10 or maybe a 2x12 so the rig reaches its full potential.

3. Honestly, I think I'm pretty close. My absolute favorite sound to date has been the MB TA501 into some blackout 12s, but that's a head-cab rig, and I'm not as familiar with MB's more recent tube offerings.
