Well...today was very small gathering at BL house to send off our bandmate Brandon “Small Batch” Runyon. Pizza was eaten, masks were worn. Karen and our boys were there, and our drummer Don “Miami Vice” Johnson was there as well. Our first time together in over a year.
Sad- Brandon truly IS NOT ready to leave, But....yeah, it’s a girl bewitching him.
Well, we had a farewell jam- first time I’ve played with folks for over a year! Good to knock some rust off, and “fall back” into a few familiar tunes!! Kicked it out on “Can’t You See” and nailed INXS “never tear us apart”- didn’t play a combo, played my EB-3L through the Ampeg Micro CL 100W mini stack (2x10”cab-fun). Hadnt played that bass or amp in a year either- brought them home, though! Yay!!
I really don’t know when I’ll be able to play again right now, but I’m hopeful!!
. I want to get the surf green Fender hard case for the Tele, but paying more for a case than I paid for the guitar seems....hmmm. But that would be SWEET! I’ve got a few surf green patch cords, so start small!
I really like it- it sounds great, gets pretty loud. Has an effects send/return if you need (I haven’t used it yet, BUT I have that new DI effects strip
) ) and headphone out, so you can just use the little head as a practice rig

Yeah when I had the 121p for a day lol, the tweeter just had a hiss to it. It wasn't bad or anything, just annoying when practicing by yourself. I probably wouldn't hear it in a live situation. It did sound really good though, I just didn't give it a chance. Like I said I unboxed it, played it for about an hour, and sent it back. We are playing acoustic rock covers and will most likely transition to electric guitars in the future.
Sounds like a wonderful time. Even some INXS too! An under appreciated ground breaking band. I saw them perform in SF a few months before Hutchens died.
