The Combo Club

Doubt I ever hauled my rig in the snow, but I could.

Visited a brick and mortar Friday and left a few business cards on the board at the entrance. Two Fender Rumbles sighted and the Ampeg Rocket Fever got the better of me and I passed. Messed with a Hofner Contemporary Beatles bass and I could see me liking that. Two Hartke 15 inch combos, looked BIG to me. Everything looks big to a Phil Jones player ;)

Sounded like a fun day. Let’s take two items in your paragraph and combine them for warm, wooly fun. I’m envisioning a Hofner Ignition Pro bass and the RB-115 for small to medium gigs...or any gigs for that matter.

Good start to the return of the CC!

I’m looking forward to somebody in Portland stocking the new Ampeg Rockets so I can try out one or two. I sure don’t need anything but what I’m reading about them ... well ...

Hearin’ ya loud and clear, SRambler. I’m sure they’ll be enough videos out there before long, but I’d like to plug into one now and check the mojo quota.

I like the Ibanez AGB200 for applications where a UB-which I don't play-would be appropriate. It's a SS but requires medium scale strings or the silks will overlap the bridge(no BFD)and the nut-on E and G. That is a BFD.

Pretty bass, Goner. Looks like it’d be fun to play if it was backwards...

Yeah, but we’re they a rowdy pair? I usually play for one so two would be doubling my typical audience. Don’t disrespect the power of II, GP!

Did a gig once during a blizzard. Most we had over the course of the night was maybe 12 people. This was a good size venue also. The 5 left at the end STILL got to see my front flip off the stage!

FL, I'm sorry I wasn't entertaining for a some time; though, I took a family picture recently and forgot to make my Combo part of the story. But here you go ....View attachment 4227188

BB, very nice to see ya! You’re fine, my friend. We’re just glad the place wasn’t ransacked while we gone. Of course, M’s laundromat/theater was completely ruined by the water damage (TB’s fault, not ours).

Don’t worry though, our law firm, Dewey, Cheatem, and Howe, say they have things under control. I hope so because I had to use G’Dog’s secret agent salary for the retainer.

That’s a beautiful harem of basses, BB. Now you should post a combo pic so they don’t get jealous!

See, GP, listen to Bigs. Be it 12, 5, or even 2 (on second thought, that is kinda embarrassing), you play for your audience no matter how many.

Good point, Biggie, but watch those front flips once you get to Maine!

That sort of thing has been PUP (Physically Unable to Perform) for quite some time...I'm no longer the fine specimen I once was.
