I'm just now getting into pedals. Love them. Especially my Voice Duplicator. Also my vintage tube for $20.00. I have got to get a Looper next.

I am not really into pedals except for the Ampeg SCR-DI. I don't really use it as a pedal because it is on most all of the time whether for recording or playing through an amp (combo). It helps get me the tone I love.

I wouldn't mind a tube pedal because that's as close to an actual tube amp that I can afford to buy, or lift for that matter .

Sorry, RB55, for my late reply. I took a day off from bass-playing yesterday, but am back and ready to enroll you as our newest member. Congratulations RichBass55, with your photo of your R40 (and you can post a pic of your R100 any old time you like) you are officially now the 241st member of the Combo Club. Hooray! Add it to your sig and help us recruit new members as you surf TB. I think we'd all be shocked to know just how many combo players there are out there too. It's the VT Bass Deluxe that provides a reasonably acceptable tubeless overdrive tone for me. My plan for next week's reggae video is to use the pedal's "Fat Tube" setting through the BG-400 combo's DI. I know as fact there are many boutique options that aren't on my pedalboard. Between 6 presets on the pedal, and the flexibility of my amps, not too worried about new pedals. What I have now needs to go to work

You should see what he can do with matching nose rings. #2 and I have never looked better at our monthly FL meetings on Neptune.

Really? There will be opposing views? I think it's perfectly clear to see that the combo representative for this 241-member club must be GP's Kustom Kasino, or the heaviest Peavey combo you can find a pic of! Otherwise, I'm always good with whatever swink thinks, being he is a thinkologist.

I put a Celestion Pulse into my R40. Made it jump around at high volumes. Lol. Sounded real good but not enough to really justify an extra $75.00. I ended up getting a R500 for playing with the band. It was amazing. Sold both. Using R200 with 2x10 cab now. In love.

Sweet..... I've got to try my Vintage Tube Overdrive pedal on my bass. Only used it on my acoustic guitar so far.

And that Fat Tube setting should fill the bill for ya, M. If I remember correctly, it'd be similar to the Ulta Lo button on many of the Ampeg amps. Instant boom if ya want it, but then the flexibility of dialing it up or down. Good choice for reggae.

Not only are there MANY boutique options but they seem to be multiplying.

Hey, LJB, how are ya? Curious minds wanna know if you thought the 500 was so good, then why did you end up selling it in favor of the 200 (which, according to GP, is a great combo)? Did you like the combination of the 115 with the 210 vs. a 410 setup better?

This is the predecessor to my Rumble 100 - A Laney Linebacker L50B. With a torn speaker cone not giving a very nice sound and the electronics playing up, I decided it was time for a change. Hopefully, I'll be able to look after my 2 Rumbles better but I did have the Laney for something like (from memory) 25 years.

Hey, LJB, how are ya? Curious minds wanna know if you thought the 500 was so good, then why did you end up selling it in favor of the 200 (which, according to GP, is a great combo)? Did you like the combination of the 115 with the 210 vs. a 410 setup better?

I had to sell it is the only reason why. Financial hard times and was booted by the band. You see, I played too much bass. It isn't like they didn't know what they were getting. Lolol. Hello, I love JB. When I thru in an extra riff adding flavor to our 3 piece blues band, he accused me of playing lead.... Oh well.
I actually like my R200 on its own the best. The 15 is sweet on the low end. But I don't play out where the 2x10 would better come into play. No idea about the 4x10. I wasn't crazy about my previous Ampeg 4x10.
