The Combo Club

We start our return journey to San Miguel de Allende, GTO, MEX tomorrow (wednesday 7/7 ( works either way mm/dd or dd/mm)) from Mendocino, CA. Which I believe is farther left than Mars....We expect to be home by 16 Julio and will have traversed 7 of the United States of America in less than 7 weeks time. Fortunately I have been able to rely on my VOX Amplug and my home built single cutaway JB to help us thread our intergalactic course. Wish us well on our SOB re-entry with the ‘capsul’.

Speaking of west coast travelers, it’s our good friend, JPD! How are ya, Man? Sounds like you’re doing well. I know this because you’re still playing bass! I must know though, are you ready to get back to an amp or are you forever an amplug user? :jawdrop:

Good luck on your return, please land safely! BTW, did you get to jam with any of the locals during your travels?

Safe Trip...I'll wave as you drive by Santa Rosa...

Visiting one or both music shops today in search of

a rasta guitar strap. Cheap.

I've a reggae video to make next week. Practicing the reggae and ska and all whut ... got the bass on the PJB BG-400 turned up, and the treble essentially off. It's the cat bass in action with (gasp!) GHS Balanced Nickels, neck pickup on, deep treble cut engaged, and the NordyMute. This cat can thump, even with rounds!

Even though I’m pretty much clueless to the conversation of the past few posts, I really liked (and still do) the loving cup from a year or two ago. Very classy.

But if we’re going with the astronomical theme, which I approve of, let’s do something no one else has (and no copyright infringement) out there.

I don’t want to dump this on Boris Badenov, aka G’Dog, so let’s all pitch in and help. Ideas anyone? I’m boring for something diamond-encrusted that’s platinum-based. Of course, the CC logo has to be in there somewhere.

How about a revision of the classic new members’ ring with the added adornments I mentioned? Let’s go big in ‘21!

Thoughts?

Da, Fearless Leader! The CC Loving Cup has only been awarded that one time. It would certainly be appropriate to this use, too!

As an engineering teacher it’s best if I’m not allowed to do art but how about something that uses a combination lock as part of imagery. Perhaps a Latin motto to boot? Something like:
combination in profundis, recludatur

which supposedly means the combination unlocks the depths. But I’m sure my Latin teacher friend would say it’s wrong.

Hmmm, Westy Bob, are you meanink somesink liking to diss?
Combo Lock inscribed.jpg
Are you seeink diss to be worn on the chest, like other medals? It looks to be a bit heavy. Or, possibly maybe, on a chain around the neck? Either vay it looks to be invitink precocious school kids to twirl de knob!

Vhat does FL say? Or should all peoples of CC wote on it?
.

Perhaps the dial should be graduated as a circle of fourths/fifths instead of numerals?

Behold, control graphics for the Coltrane MKVII combo amp. Or should that be the MKvii, I can never remember.

I was thinking something more heraldic. Think a shield with a bass an amp and a combo lock some where with the saying on a banner draped over the top.

Yed, I'd like to hear from everyone...speak up, membership. What do you like or want?

Then, 'Dog, after they've raised their voices to fill our ears with opinion, let's go with what I'm currently digging, and that's a mini loving cup with a micro padlock on it! What do ya think? It, to me, says we are champs (not Fender ones though) and are locked in the CC forever! Let's do it, wise photo magician!
