Isn't the gigmobile a Ford Transit Connect? Maybe with back seats only folded there would be a fit issue, but if the seats are removed, I think there's no problem.

Choose? I have a Sterling SS StingRay and an Acinonyx. Love them both. The Ace gets more playing, but the Sterling has that wonderful StingRay sound. Both great.

There is no way I could own the Sterling SS StingRay without dropping a Nordstrand replacement pickup in there.

Good to know! I happily possess the Rumbler 115 that’s mated either to my Stage 800, Orange Terror Bass, or currently, a Markbass Marcus Miller 110. Frankly, the thing has so much bottom it scares me!

I'm with you. My Carvin/Hartke combo have been rockin it since 1991, and my GK MB150E-112 joined the fold in 1995, a then my Hartke Transporter 410 in 1999.
Some of us just hang onto gear longer.

A PJB combo is pretty darn short scale
actually can't get in too many raves about the cat bass. It's totally defied everything I know to be true about basses. Weighs nothing (6.8#), and boasts a whale of usable tones at a touch. The "all in" setting that switches the single coils to series is ... inspiring
It’s a sweet-looking Bass, M, no doubt. It looks lite.

Apropos of nothing, behind it are a Korg tuner (why haven't I put that away?), a TC Unitune headstock tuner, a NordyMute, and that single quartz crystal. The crystal was discovered in a Hawaiian stream, and blessed by Pele.
The lady who gifted it to me (well, gifted is strong but I totally made out in the deal) said she made the mistake of standing on a mountain ridge and announcing she doesn't believe in Pele. She was very nearly struck by lightning that moment. Actually now that I recall more of the tale she shared, the Big Kahuna asked her to leave .... And peripherally I know who he is and I see his point.
I get a lot more practical use out of the BA108v2, and the NordyMute, actually. The crystal has been to some very interesting places, tho
Right, the bass.
It's chambered alder, is what it is. Carey Nordstrand dejankified a Goya Panther. The switches are the exact same switches used on a million billion compressors and will likely last beyond my lifetime. The pickup switches are somewhat normal. Both, neck, bridge, off. Push all four buttons in and the pickups are in serial
The tone switches are flat, cut, deep cut, and notch.The notch isn't a slapper's notch. What I find is it's very useful for that solo'd bridge tone without the J bass honk. Still experimenting. The notch tone is deceptive to my ears. Deep cut + serial + NordyMute is Motown on steroids. And with GHS Balanced Nickel rounds, too! (I love these stings!) Likely I'll order a NordyMute for my semi-hollowbody. None for the 'Ray, it has mutes on the bridge, being a '79.
What I'm working on for this reggie thing is one finger per fret and playing all the changes without leaving the first four frets. Some open strings going on, and hey NordyMute. Which is not a fretwrap. Still have to left-hand mute, and hey maybe even experimenting with some palm muting. Just to get a minimum handles on palm muting.
At question is do I record the reggie thing from the combo amp's DI, or do I add some hair with the Elf's DI? I want a Transit B pedal and no inclination to build a new cordless pedalboard to add one.
What is "up the street" Tuesday is an poolside (pooside?) open mike. And I've actually no reason to show up at an open mike. Here practicing inversions on a diatonic cycle and I'm just going to bet I don't want to show up and say, hey wanna disco up on a diatonic cycle?
The weird thing to me is, I'm beginning to get it.
One of my cohort students dropped out, I'm told. First week. The material isn't a good fit for her, I'm told. I get it. This one finger per fret stuff is not easy. If that's it. I don't know? She didn't tell me. All's the pity, I rather like her and she's good.
