Thank ya, Matey! That pickup is a no-brainer as far as I'm concerned. Everything you mentioned about the wedge is spot-on. Weighs nothing, is flexible, and regardless of the combo amp, it works effortlessly. Teamed up with my Auralex Gramma, it's an unbeatable combination, IMHO. I know there are those non-believers out there and that's fine, but it's what I don't hear while playing matters as much as what I do hear. Enjoy, Tele!

In an odd place as the PJB combo works optimally when coupled to the floor. Best placement is in a corner, when possible. I clean up any mud with the HPF, and EQ to the room <shrug>

Woke today in the recollection that backpack manufacturers had weight distribution worked out 50 years ago. Weight's best borne on the hips, not the shoulders.

My SWAG is most gig bags are for car-to-bar distances. Naturally the greater the load-in the farther away the nearest parking space. The parking space that's not legal. Oh, and stairs. And a trek through the kitchen. &c. All of which means to me a low-end gig bag is fine for most people most of the time.

That fancy bag for the Nordy bass is everything I need at present. The bass weighs 6.7 pounds. This is not a hardship for me to carry. It's a very light duty gig bag, and that's fine. The problem with the gig bag, and the bass, is when I show up with something like this, I'd better know what I'm doing lest I embarrass myself to the penalty box.

Naturally people are protective of their basses (no fault). I see people wiping down their six-stringers before it's even out of the hard shell case.

Well, not Anger, per se, but no sound restrictions next 24 hours here. It usually doesn’t matter to me, but I want to push this thing and see what it can do.

I wanted to use the wedge, as well, to see how it changes the sound. While not the same as a stand or a Gramma Pad, it must certainly aid in decoupling from resonant, hollow stages. The robust physics to demonstrate involves surface area contact and power flux etc etc. The wedge breaks that contact, and essentially only contacts stage at the rear edge

I’m lucky I’ve got a den/living room with high ceilings!

Trhis came as well today!

I’m really glad I grabbed this! Looks Great! Padding adequate, handle access means protection while schlepping to and fro at gigs.

Generous ditty Velcro pouch at back enough for cords, a pedal or two, and the foot switch (I’m using my $11 7ender button foot switch- Get yours on Amazon today…)

Looks great- Great investment in keeping this thing Awesome!!

You look like you’re ready to rock the stage, Tele! I especially liked the look of your cover. Ordered mine this morning and it’ll be here on Tuesday.

With the wedge in place and while sitting thr angle is perfect though bass frequencies radiate non-directionally. Still, I hear myself better as opposed to the sound hitting me in the shin.

Enjoy your time playing. I’m going on the attack in about a half hour.

Guilty!!!! Yay! History!!!! I collected a BS in history while pursuing more technical studies. I had a fortuitous pile of credits transfer from my junior college to University that allowed a relatively perfunctory awarding of the degree!!

My main arenas of interest are late nineteenth century marine and naval engineering, WWI (my grandfather was in the Canadian Black Watch Highlanders- the “Ladies from Hell” the Germans used to call them !), polar exploration (Shackleton, Anyone??) Oh, and everything else as well!

Devouring two books this summer I recommend freely:

The corrosion on the bridge is easy to see. Not visible is a fried preamp. All of those bits are being restored now. Parts are on order. Been in the luthier's queue now for five months. "Any time now".

Welp, I done wentn' got me anothr' combo. I couldn't help it really. When it showed up in the classifieds, I found myself buying it. Just like that. It's a sweet Fender Bassman TV10 and it sounds good........
