RB Continental is 9 lbs! At $229, it ought to be lighter than that.

I have a lot of bags for bass storage but when I go out I mostly use a Gator Pro for $150 and it's great. Not exactly lightweight either, but large pockets and good protection.

I tried a Phitz just for bass storage and wouldn't put my laundry in it.

Summary so far. Please correct my understandings if I am wrong.

Mono M80
• Decent protection (or maybe very good protection) but not as good as Reunion Blues Continental
• Nice storage options
• Good protection around endpin at butt of bass
• Might cause harm to nitro finishes
• Not sure about water protection

Mono Vertigo
• Not as good protection as M80 (and therefore not as good as RB Continental either)
• Lightweight
• Good protection around endpin at butt of bass
• Might cause harm to nitro finishes
• Not sure about water protection

Reunion Blues Continental
• Probably the best of the bunch in terms of protection
• Not great storage options (but decent)
• Heavier than Mono products
• Rides high on the back
• Maybe taller than necessary (especially for 34" scale basses)
• Not sure about water protection

Fusion Urban
• Not enough info yet. I gather that it has a lot of storage options and seems to be very well made. The amp on the bag shows it is quite rigid. Seems hard to find.
• I'd really like to hear more about this bag

Protec Contego
• Not as well made as the others already mentioned but provides overall great protection
• Less expensive than the options above

iGig 515/525
• Need more info still. Sounds like very well made. Not sure about the handle. Seems harder to find.

Gator Pro Bag
• Need more info still

I just created an album and uploaded way too many pictures of the Fusion Urban so you can get a better idea of the features of the bag. I am not endorsed nor affiliated with the company whatsoever. I was seriously considering either the M80 or Vertigo before I stumbled upon this one and I'm really quite happy with the combination of weight, durability, functionality and features. They are a smaller company out of the Britain so that's why they're not real prevalent here in the US. The weight of the bag is just over 6 lbs and I do have a bit of an issue with having to bend over going through doorways with it but I just chalk that up to being 6'3" and not so much a limitation of the bag itself.

I do see a couple M80 dual bass cases in the classified that I'd love to take a look at though...

Been following this thread a bit and I kinda think the Fusion and the igig look pretty damn sweet. Really like the fusion re-enforcement pieces that seem fully adjustable and customizable. Pretty cool stuff there. Jamvan do you have a single or double? That double look nice. The igig's seem pretty robust with ton's of accessory space and seem to have a pretty good design for protection as well. Hmm. Anyone have some first hand exp with the igig's?

Spacers are made out of soft padding. Not bean bags but firm, yet pliable padding. You can configure the additional internal padding to wrap around the body of your bass if you choose. I have several different shaped basses so just keep it as an additional layer around the interior.

I've never weighed it fully loaded but I would assume it's in the 20-25 lb range with a bass, wireless systems, cables, etc loaded in the attached bags. I used to use it for my amp as well but that was just too much and instead carry that in it's own bag separately.

Handle is very comfortable but honestly, because I have the Fuse-On bags attached, I'm usually carrying it via the shoulder straps as it gets a little off balance with the added weight on the front/top of the case.

Just what I'm seeing here so far yeah could be one of the best. Igig might have them beat with on board storage but the protection of the Fusion Urban looks top notch for a gig bag...

One drawback is that the hoops that the Fuse-On bags attach to are made of plastic and I can see them breaking at some point. They haven't broken yet and I don't know why I feel that way but they just seem like they are a weak point in the design. Each of the Fuse-On bags doubles as it's own backpack so you have flexibility and expandability down the road if you want to expand your gig transport.

I've been using it now for several months and I haven't run into too many things that I've felt I either wished I had with the bag or things that I wished we're designed or implemented better. The zippers are solid and it feels really well put together. If I was to stretch, I'd say that I have too many storage pockets between the bag and the Fuse-Ons as I sometimes forget which pocket I've put a cable or battery pack in. My bandmates are very jealous of how easy my transport, load-in, and load-out have become since putting this together.

The other drawback is you won't have a bag that is like what everyone else has...if that's important to you.

I always thought the Fusion bags looked great but were hard to find and expensive. And I could never get a feeling for how big the many, many pockets were. Now seeing those pics of it (thanks whoever posted them!), I'm not a fan. I don't like all the foam padding inside it. Looks like a PITA if one loads the bass as I do - from the top.

I always lusted for an iGig as well, but looking closely at the pics, the side foam looks on the thin side.

Just don't like the Reunion Blues stuff. Not enough pockets and look flimsy. Also, if the bass flops around inside as it looks like a Fender might, that's not good.

On my last inspection, the Mono seems to be a very protective case, but I thought it was more expensive than it had to be.

I settled on a Gator ProGo some time ago out of frustration about not finding anything that checked all the boxes for me, but I have come to like it a lot. The only thing I don't like about it is I wish the bottom pocket were bigger. I had a bag that was not as good, but had a gigantic pocket into which I could put a class D amp. I got spoiled by that.

In the end, it's a bag after all, and I would never use a bag in places where I'd need something tough. But I would use the Gator if touring and the bass was with me all the time.
