Thanks. I'm really interested in feedback regarding why you feel the Continental is superior in your opinion.
I'm interested in what it is about the Contego that is superior in your opinion.
I use an Access Stage 3 and the only things I don't particularly like about it are it's on the heavy side and it is not comfortable to carry on your back for extended periods of time. It might be similar (or the same) as the Sadowsky Portabag. I think Access makes their bags, if I am not mistaken.
Fusion Urban user here. Bought it from the TB classifieds and added a small, medium, and large Fuse-On bags I picked up on eBay to carry my wireless IEM, head, cables, mics, strings, etc. so I can get out of the house now in one load. It is really well padded and I personally like the way they incorporate the extra grab handles into the exterior of the bag. I use primarily 34" basses and they fit comfortably in bag, especially with the added padding installed at the bottom. I can't say for sure how it works with a 35" as I don't have one. I've had it for several months and I've been very happy with mine in real world use. I have several flight cases but I'm finding I use this more and more as it is incredibly convenient and keeps my bass well protected when in transit. I had been strongly considering a Mono M80 or Vertigo until I came upon the Fusion line of bags. Not very well known and very limited marketing budget for such a great bag IMHO.
Guess the optimal choice depends on how you're gonna use it. If you're gonna wear it like a backpack, you want light weight and comfy straps. If you're gonna lay it on top of amps in an equipment trailer, you want a rigid frame and thick padding. If you're gonna stuff a lot of accesories into the bag, you want big pockets.
For me the Protec Contego and Sadowsky Portabag have worked well. I cart it to the gigs in my car, with my cabs and other gear, and both offer good protection against bumps. My amps are in their own bags, and my cables/mic/extension cord/blahblahblah go in my run bag. One shoulder strap is all I need to walk in from the parking lot to the venue.
Again, which gig bag features matter depends on how you're gonna use it.

@Jamvan Thanks for the review. How rigid is the Fusion? Have you been able to compare it directly to the Mono or other high end bag?
Have not been able to compare it to those directly so I just placed my nearly 50lb bass cab on top of it to show you. It's fairly rigid along the sides and won't bend unless severely pressured.
No bass in the case. I placed the cab so it is sitting on the sidewalls of the case to show that they won't compress, even with that amount of weight on them. Not scientific by any means but it should give you an idea.

I picked it up used here through the TB classifieds. I had been contemplating buying one new through Invalid Link Removed as that was one of the only US retailers that routinely had them in stock when one popped up here in the classifieds for a really good price. As I said, I've been very happy with it.
Sturdier and way more protective.
More and better storage.
The Mono is useless for basses that don't have a fender type slim headstock.
I put a 3+2 five string in my mino and it was bulging at the top. Couldn't travel with it. One hit and it would have been curtains.
Lastly I hear the black rubber neck rest inside the mono leaves blacks streaks on neck finishes.
I must be the only one left who still uses hard cases.
I know lots of bassists and guitarists that use hard cases.
It's difficult to ride a pedal bike with a hard case or go on the subway with one though!
I use the Reunion Blues RBX Dual Bass gig bag and I prefer it over both the Mono and iGig dual bags which I have owned in the past.
i have the RB continental and it feels a lot more "tankshell" like than the mono cases that my friends have
