I was in a shop where a family was talking. I couldn't understand a word, but it sounded like it could have been an English dialect. The mother 'special offers' in a Geordie accent. I tuned into Geordie and understood everything the others said.

A friend of mine married a Ugandan that had been living in London for years. The first time I met her, she needed him to interpret my words. My accent was too much for her, even though she'd been up this way for a while. I'm not even from here myself.

It was a while before I understood what toon was and why my grandfather might be ganning there, and what ganning was... But he loved a nice gan or something. I wish now I'd asked him about old bass amps, but that was more his non-Geordie son's (my uncle) area.

I remember the Goodies (UK TV show) episode where they get on the train at one Welsh station. As the train departs you can see the station name sign which continues the entire trip until they get off at the next station.

When I think of valves, I marvel at the Oval Piston technology of the Honda NR500, race bike. Thirty-two valves, of fun. :thumbsup:

I lusted so bad after a Honda NR750 (NC40) so bad when I saw it in the magazines, my fave bike until the Britten V1000, which to this day gives me a 'traveller'.
At one point I had a VFR750 (NC30) and a VFR400 (NC35) and the latter was the crazy fastest bike on a tight road ever. I could get my elbow down on it in normal fast riding, not crashing.
